A.D. 1718. Anno quinto Georgh Regis. C. 3. 181 ' produced by the Cuftoms, Subfidies, Impofitions, additional and other Duties, proportional Parts of
- Duties, and by the faid weekly and other Payments,* by that Act appropriated or charged to make good
' the faid general yearly Fund of (even hundred twenty-four thoufand eight hundred forty-riine Pounds ' fix Shillings ten Pence and one Fifth Part of a Penny, over and above lo much as fhall'be fufficient to ' make good the fame ; and fo much of the faid general yearly Fund as at the End of any Qjuarte'r of a ' Year ihall remain in the Receipt of the Exchequer, over and above all the Monies' then due or payable, ' to difcharge the fevcral Annuities and other Payments by that A& directed to be fatisfied out of the ' fame, and all Arrears thereof (if any fuch were) fhould likewife from Time to Time attend the Difpo- ' fition of Parliament, and be applied according to Act or Acts of Parliament, and not other wife. And ' by the Aft laft recited, it was further declared and enacted, That all the Monies to arife from Time to 3 Geo. 1. c. 7. ' Time, as well of or for the Excefs or Surplus by virtue of the faid Act made for redeeming the P'unds ' of the Governor and Company of the Bank of England, and of or for the faid Excefs or Surplus by ' virtue of the faid Act made for redeeming the Funds of the faid Governor and Company of Merchants ' of Great Britain trading to the South-Seas and other Parts of America, and for encouraging the Fifhery ; ' as alio of and for the faid Excefs or Surplus of the faid Duties and Revenues by the faid Other Act of ' the third Year of your Majcfty's Reign, appropriated to make good the faid general yearly Fund as ' aforcfaid, and the Overplus Monies of the fame general yearly Fund thereby eftabhfhed, or intended to
- be eltablifhed as aforefaid, fhould be appropriated, referved and flRployed to and for the difcharging the
' Principal and Intereft of fuch national Debts and Incumbrances as were contracted before the twenty- ' fifth Day of December one thoufand feven hundred and fixtcen, and were declared to be national Debts,
- and were provided for by Acts of Parliament, in fuch Manner and Form, as mould be directed or ap-
4 pointed by any future Act or Acts of Parliament to be difcharged therewith or out of the fame, and to ' and for none other Ufe, Intent or Purpofe whatfoever, as by the Act laft before recited (Relation being ' thereunto had) may likewife more fully appear. And whereas the faid Sum, not exceeding two Milli-3Geo. 1. c. 8. ' ons five hundred thoufand Pounds, in the faid firit recited Act mentioned, or any Part thereof, was not ad- ' vanced by the faid Governor and Company of the Bank of England, or called for or required by the ' Commiffioners of your Majefty's Treafury, fo that the faid Duties, Revenues and Incomes, called the ag- ' gregate Fund, are not charged or chargeable with any Annuity or other layment whatfoever in refpeiSt ' of the fame, by the faid firit recited Act or otherwife howfoever ; and the faid Sum, not exceeding two^Geo. 1, c. 9. ' Millions, mentioned in the faid Act relating to the Soutb-Sea Company, or any Part thereof, was not ' advanced by that Company, or called for or required by the Commiffioners of your Majefty's Treafury, ' fo that the faid Duties, Revenues and Incomes, comprehended in the Fund of that Company, are not ' charged or chargeable with any Annuity or other Payment whatfoever in refpect of the fame, by virtue
- of the faid Act relating to that Company or otherwife howfoever. And whereas we your Majefty's faid
- dutiful and loyal Subjects the Commons cf Great Britain in Parliament aflcmbled (purfuant to the
' Claufcs contained in the Act firft above recited) did on the tenth Day of March in the Year of our Lord ' one thoufand feven hundred and feventeen refolve, That Notice fhould be given to the faid Governor 4 and Company of the Bank of England, That the Koufe of Commons would at Lady-day 011c thoufand 4 feven hundred and nineteen redeem the faid Annuity of feventy-iix thoufand eight hundred and thirty 4 Pounds fifteen Shillings ; and ordered the Speaker of the faid Houfe, on or before Lady-day one thou-
- fand feven hundred and eighteen, to fignify the faid Refolution in Writing to the faid Governor and
' Company, which was fignihed accordingly. And whereas by Computation as many of the faid Exche-
- ' quer-bills as do amount to the faid Sum of two Millions five hundred fixty-one thoufand twenty-five
4 Pounds in principal Money, made forth by the faid former Acts of Parliament, do on the fourteenth '• Day of January one thoufand feven hundred and eighteen remain undifcharged and uncancelled, and the 4 prefent Colt and Expence to the Publick for circulating and exchanging the fame doth, by the faid Al-
- lowance of three Pounds per Centum per Annum, and by the faid growing Intereft of one Penny per Cen-
- ' turn per Diem, amount in the whole to one hundred and fifteen thoufand feven hundred feventy-nine
' Pounds thirteen Shillings and four Pence per Annum, or thereabouts, except fo much thereof as is faved 4 and may be abated for Bills, from Time to Time, in the Exchequer or in the Hands of Receivers or
- Collectors of any Taxes, Aids or Revenues payable to your Majefty ; and it being apparently juft and
- " necefiary, with regard to the Publick, that the faid prefent Coft and Expence and the laid national Debts
