An A& for making the River Douglas alias Ajland navigable, from the River Ribble to Wigan'm. the County Palatine of Lancqfter. P R. Undertakers to make the Douglas navigable at their own Cofts. May alter Bridges or Highways, pull down Mills, Wears, &c. fet out towing Paths, &c, fi.ft giving Satisfaction to the Proprietors. Commiffioners appointed for adjufting Differences between the Undertakers and Proprietors. Perfons interefted diffatisfied '&£'. Commiffioners (hall iffue Warrants to the Sheriff of Lancajlcr to return a Jury. None to aft as a Com- miffioner, who has not ioo /. per Annum in the County. In cafe of Death of any Commiffioners, or their Refufal to a<St, the other Commiffioners to nominate others. Undertakers may demand for every Ton of Coals &c. up or down the River, any Sum not exceeding z s. 6 d. Barge-mafters anfwerable for Damages done by their Veffels, &c. to Wears, &c. The Douglas between the Ribble and Miry-Lane End, not under the Survey of any Commiffion of Sewers. Owners of Lands near the River may ufe Pleafure Boats, but not carry Goods in them. The River fhall be efteemed navigable from the Ribble to Miry- Lane End, and free for all Perfons to pafs, paying the Rates. Saving all Royalties of Fifhing or Fowling. Any Perfon may carry Wares on the River, paying 21, 6 d. per Ton. No Meeting of Commiffioners to be above eight Miles from the Place in Queftion. Undertakers not fmifhing the Navigation within eleven Years after the End of this Seffion of Parliament, Commiffioners may appoint others. Damages in Grounds, Mills, &c. occafioned by the Undertakers raifing the Water too high, not keeping up the Banks, cs'c. Commiffioners fhall afcertain the fame by a Jury, and give Judgment for it. Undertakers cutting through, or altering Highways, fhall prepare as good : And if they have Occafion to purchafe Land, the Price fhall be afcer- tained as above. j CAP. XXIX. The Quarter-Seffions for Huntingdonfh'ir to determine the Satisfaction to be given for Damages, who may fummon Witnefles, &c. Sums decreed to be paid in three Days after Notice, and on Refufal two Juftices may levy by Diftrefs. The Toll for ever Chalder of Coals Lynn Meafure, one Penny. For every half-hundred of Deals, one Penny. For every Loai Timber, forty Foot to the Load, one Penny. For eight Packs of Wool, ten Tods to the Pack, one Penny For every Weigh of Salt, one Penny. For every Load of Wheat, Barley, Ry.e, Peafe or Beans, five Qyar ters to the Load, one Penny. For every Laft of Oats, one Penny. For every thoufand of Turf, on Penny. For every Load of Reed, Sedge, Hay or - Hemp, twenty hundred Weight to a Load, one Penn For every Laft of Malt, one Penny. For every thoufand of Tiles, one Penny. For every Chalder c Lime, one Penny. An Act. for making the River Idle navigable, from Eaft-Reiford in the County of Nottingham, to Bawtr Wharf in the County "of York. PR. The Bailiffs and Aldermen of Eaft-Retford, impowered to make the Idle navigable from Eqfl- Retford "| Shire-Dike. The Bailiffs, &c. before they begin to _ make Cuts, &c. to agree with the Owners of tl Lands. Commiffioners appointed for adjufting all Differences between the laid Bailiffs, csV. and the Ow ers of Lands, &c. damnified. If any Perfons will not agree, or through any Difability cannot, the Cor miffioners fhall iffue their Warrant to the Sheriff to impanel a Jury, who upon their Oath, after View, fh; affefs Damages, and the Commiffioners fhall give Judgment accordingly. Commiffioners Death or Refu to aft mail be recorded, and the other Commiffioners may nominate another, having 50 /. per Annum, ipoo /. Perfonal Eftate. Commiffioners of Sewers fhl have no Power to do any Thing that may hinder the Navigation. The Idle fhall for ever hereafter be na'«  gable from Eaft-Retford to Shire-Dike ; and all Perfons have free PafTage thereon. None may cut down r damnify any Trees near the River, fo as fufficient haling Paths be left. Perfons aggrieved may appeal to J- ftices of Affize, whofe Order fhall be final, and no Appeal from their Judgment.
