And he it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That the faid Accomptant General of the A nook to be Bank of England for the Time being, to whom. the faid. Certificates are to be directed as aforefaid, fhall, kepi for that upon receiving and taking in of the faid Certificates, or any of them, give Credit to the Perfons named Pnrpofe. therein, in a Book orBppks to be by him provided and kept for that Purpofe, for the Principal Sums con- tained in every fuch Certificate ; and the Perfons to whofe Credit every the laid Principal Sums fhall be en- Anmiitici if- tied in the faid Book or Books, his, her or their Executors and Administrators, fhall and may have Power ( i n ' ■ • to affign and transfer the fame, or any Part, Share or Proportion thereof, t> any other Perfon orPcii- Bodies Politick and Corporate whatfoever, in other Books to be provided and kept by the faid Accomptanr . General for that Purpofe ; and the Prjnqpal Sums fo affigned or transferred fhall carry the faid Annuity of three Pounds per Centum per Annum? and fhall be taken and deemed to be Stock transferable by this Ac'., according to the Power and Authority herein after mentioned, until the Redemption thereof as aforefaid : And the faid Accountant General of the Bank of England for the Time being is hereby authorized and di- rected to cancel and file the Certificates as they fliali from Time to Time be received and taken in by him, and to give the Perfons bringing the fame a Note under his Hand, terrifying the Principal Monty for vf they have Credit in the faid Book or Books, by Reafon or Means of the Certificates fo received, taken in and cancelled as aforefaid, and of the Annuity attending the fame. XX. And it is hereby enacted, That every Perfon fo to be named in the faid Certificates, his, her and - j. perCent. their Executors, Administrators and Afligns, fhall have, receive, and enjoy and be entitled, by Force arid Intereft, Virtue of this Act, to have, receive and enjoy an Annuity or Annuities after the Rate of three Pounds per Centum per Annum, for the refpective Principal Sums fpecified in fuch Certificate, until Redemption there- of, according to the Provifo herein after contained in that Behalf, out of the Money of the faid yearly Fund by this Act eftablifhed and appropriated for that Purpofe ; which Annuities fhall be payable and paid Half- payable Half- yearly at the Feaft-Days above-mentioned, by even and equal Portions, or within fix Days next after every !""'?• or any fitch Feaft-Days, until the faid Annuities fliali be redeemed by paying off the faid refpective Princi- pal Sums and all Arrearages of the fame Annuities, if any be, according to the Provifo herein after men- tioned ; the firfl: Payment to begin and be made at the Feafl of the Nativity of our Lord Chrift one thou- sand feven hundred and twenty-fix, or within fixDays after; and that the faid yearly Sum of thirty thou- sand Pounds, or fo much thereof as fliali be fufficient from Time to Time to anfwer and fatisfy the faid An- nuities after the Rate of three Pounds per Centum per Annum, as the fame fhall become due, are and fliali be appropriated and applied thereunto, and fhall not be diverted or divertible to any other Ufe, Intent or Purpofe whatfoever. XXI. And it is hereby enacted, That the faid Annuities payable after the Rate of three Pounds per Cen- Tax-fat. turn per Annum, and all and every the Principal Sums for which the fame are to be payable, fhall be free from all Taxes, Charges and Impofitions whatfoever. XXil. And be it enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That the faid Governor and Company of the Bank Bank to appoint of England, and their Succeffors, fnall from Time to Time, until the faid Annuities after the Rate of three a chief Cafhier .Pounds per Centum per Annum fhall be redeemed according to this Act, appoint and employ one fufficient and AccountaQt Perfon within their Office in the City of London to be their Chief or Firfl: Cafhier, and one other fufficient General - Perfon within the fame Office to be their Accountant General ; and that the faid Cafhier or Cafhiers, to whom the faid Monies fliali from Time to Time be iilued for Payment of the faid Annuities after the Rate of three Pounds per Centum per Annum, fhall from Time to Time, without Delay, apply and pay the fame .accordingly, and render his Account thereof according to the due Courfe of the Exchequer : And the faid Accountant General for the Time being fnall from Time to Time l'nfpect and examine all Receipts and Pay- ments of the faid Cafhier, and the Vouchers relating thereunto, in order to prevent any Fraud, Negligence or Delay ; and that all Perfons and Corporations, who fliali be entitled to any of the fame Annuities, fo to Annuities a Per. .be payable by the Cafhier of the Bank of England for the Time being, purfilant to this Act, and all Per- fonal Efiate, &c. fons claiming under them, fhall be poffeffed thereof as a Perfonal Efface, and the fame fhall not be defcend- able to the Heir, and fhall not be liable to any foreign Attachment by the Cufxom of London, or otherwise'; any Law, Statute or Cuftom to the contrary notwithstanding. XXIII. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That all the Principal Monies for which the The Annuities a faid feveral Annuities, after the R_ate of three Pounds per Centum per Annum, fhall be payable by the Cafhier Joint Siock. of the'iBank of England for the Time being, as aforefaid, fhall be deemed and taken to be one Capital or joint Stock on which the fame Annuities fhall be attending, and fhall be called. The Joint Stock of three Pounds per Centum Annuities ; and that all Perfons and Corporations, in Proportion to their refpective An- nuities, fhall have a Share in fuch Stock ; and that all fuch Shares fhall be affignable, transferrable and de- vi'feable in the fame Manner as is prefcribed by Act or Acts of Parliament made in the firft Year of his Ma- jetty's R-eign, touching the Annuities after the Rate' of five Pounds per Centum per Annum therein mentioned ; and that no Stamp-Duties whatfoever fliali be chargeable on fuch Transfers ; and that the faid Governor and Company of the Bank of England, (notwithftanding the Redemption of all or any other Funds or Annui- ties, in Purfuance of the Acts for eftablifhing the fame, or any of them) fhall continue a Corporation to all Intents and Purpofes, relating to the Receiving, Paying or Accounting for the faid Annuities cf three Pounds per Centum per Annum fo payable by their Cafhier, till the fame fhall be redeemed according to this Act ; and and that the faid Governor and Company of the Bank of England, or any Members thereof, fhall not incur anv Difabilitv for or by reafon of their doing any Matter or Thing in Purfuance of this Act. 4 D -1 XXIV.
