C. 38. 249 fuch Sail Cloth, that fhall be twenty-four Inches in Breadth, at leaft five hundred and fixty double Threads of Yarn, and n every Piece or Bolt of fuch Sail Cloth that fhall be thirty Inches in Breadth, at leait feven hundred d lble Threads of Yam ; and in every Piece or Bolt of fuch oa 1 Cloth that fhall be of any other Breadti; than as aforefaid, a certain Number or Quantity of double Threads of Yarn in Proportion to the Nl ber of double Threads of Yarn expreffed to be contained in the Breadth as aforefaid ; and the Wha and fhoot Yarn which fhall be wrought in every Piece or Bolt of the firft four Numbers of fuch S. Cloth; that is to fay, from Number i. to Number 4. inclufive, (hall be made of long Flax, witho. any Mixture of fhort or barr Flax, or of long FJax, or Italian Hemp or Braack Hemp ; and all the 'lax and Hemp that fhall be ufed in making the Wharp and (hoot Yarn of fuch Sail Cloth of the afore id four Numbers, fliall be of a ftrong Staple, frefh, found, and good in its Kind, and well dreffed ; . id the faid Yarn (boll be well dcanfed, even fpun and well twifted ; and all the fhoot Yarn of each Piece or Bolt of fuch Sail Cloth of the aforefaid four Numbers fhall be full as ftrong as the Wharp Yarn, and clofe ftruck with four Shoots of treble Threads at the Diftance of every two Feet or thereabouts , and both the Wharp and fhoot Yarn (hall be as ftrong as the Wharp and fhoot Yarn that are ufuali wrought in the Sail Cloth of thofe four Numbers that are made for and ufed in his Majefty's Navy ; iftd no Flax Yarn ufed or wrought in any Briti/b Sail Cloth lhall be 6d. per Yard whitened with Lime, on Forfeitui 2 of fix Pence per Yard for every Yard of Britijh Sail Cloth that te „"^ fhall, from and after the faid twenty-ninth Day of September one thoufand feven hundred and thirty-fix, for Sail Cloth be fo whitened with Lime as aforefaid, or be made, fold or worked up into new Sails in Great Britain, with Lime, anv Ways effentially different, lighter or inferior in Strength or Goodnefs to any of the aforefaid Di- rections or Reftnctions. VIII. And for the better Obfervance of this Act, and the feveral Matters and Things herein before directed and required by all Perfons concerned in the faid Briti/b Manufacture of Sail Cloth, it is hereby enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That every Sail Maker in this Kingdom, and all and every other This Act, or an Perfon or Perfons who fhall make or work up Sail Cloth into Sails or Tarpawlins, fhall caufe this Act, Abftraft of it, or an Abftract thereof, to be put up or affixed, and there to continue from time to time fo put up and shops P and' P "' affixed, in fome pubiick Part or Place of the Loft, Shop, Warehoufe or Workhoufc where his faid Warehoufes, Trade is carried on, or his Workmen employed, under the Penalty of forty Shillings. on Penalty of IX.   • ~ 7HEREAS by an Act of Parliament made in the fecond Year of the Reign of his prefent Ma- Preamble, re-

' W jefty, intituled, An Aft for the more effectual preventing Bribery and Corruption in the Eleftions of cit ^i &r&&& ' Members to ferve in Parliament, it is enacted, i hat no Perfon fhall be made liable to any Incapacity, 2 ea ' Difability, Forfeiture or Penalty by the faid Act laid or impofed, unlefs Profecution be commenced ' within two Years after fuch Incapacity, Difability, Forfeiture or Penalty fhall be incurred, or in cafe ' of a Profecution the fame be carried on without wilful Delay : And whereas Profecutions may have ' been or may be commenced againft Perfons offending againft the faid Act, by fuing out original or ' other Writs or Proceffes againft fuch Perfons fo offending within two Years after the incurring any In- ' capacity, Difability, Forfeiture or Penalty laid or impofed by the faid Act, and Perfons fo fuing out ' fuch original or other Writs or Proceffes may have delayed, or may delay, to ferve the fame, without ' giving the Perfons againft whom fuch original or other Writs or Proceffes may have been or may be

' the Profecution of Perfons offending againft the faid Act is or may be evaded ;' Now for explaining and amending the faid Provifion, be it enacted by the King's mod Excellent Majefty, by and with the Ad- vice and Content of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament af- fembled, and by the Authority of the fame, That no Perfon fhall be m3de liable to any Incapacity, No Perfon liable Difability, Forfeiture or Penalty by the faid Act laid or impofed, unlefs fuch Perfon has been or {hall £° ti^fSdAa, be actually and legally arretted, fummoned or otherwife ferved with any fuch original or other Writ or unlefs pe'rfonaiiy Procefs, within the Space of two Years after any Offence againft the faid Act has been or (hall be com- ferved with the mitted, fo as the Service of any fuch original or other Writ or Procefs hath not been or fhall not be y^a™ after the* prevented by fuch Perfon abfeonding or withdrawing out of this Kingdom.
