Landlords may diftrain and fell Goods fraudu- lently carried off the Pre- mises within 3c Bays, it therefore enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That every Grant to be made from and after the fixth Day of May one thoufahd feven hundred and thirty-eight, of any Advowfon or Right of Prefentation, Collation, Nomination, or Donation, of and to any Benefice, Prebend, or Ecclefiaftical Living, School' Hofpital, or Donative, and every Grant or any Avoidance thereof, by any Papift, or Perfon making Profeffion of the Popilh Religion, or ally Mortgagee, Truftee, or Perfon any ways intruded directly or indirectly, mediately or immediately, by or for any luch Papift or Perfon making Profeffion of the Popilh Religion, whether fuch Truft be declared by Writing or not, fhall be null and void, unlefs fuch Grant (hall be made bom fide, and for a full and valuable Confideration to and for a Proteftant Purchafer or Proteftant Purchafers* and meerly and only for the Benefit a of Proteftant or Proteftants ; and that every fuch Grantee, or Perfon claiming under any fuch Grant, fhall be deemed to be a Truftee for a Papift or Perfon profeffing the Popiih Religion as aforefaid, within the true Intent and Meaning of the faid Act; and that all fuch Grantees, or Perfons claiming under fuch Grants, and their Prelentees, fhall be com- pelled to make fuch Difcovery relating to fuch Grants and Prefentations made thereupon, and by fuch Methods* as in and by the laid Act of the twelfth Year of the Reign of Queen Anne, are directed in. tire Cafe of Truftees of Papifts of Perfons profeffing the Popifh Religion ; and that every Devife to be made from and after the faid fixth Day of May by any Papift or Perfon profeffing the Popifh Religion, of any fuch Advowfon or Right of Prefentation, Collation, Nomination, or Donation, or any fuch Avoidance, with Intent to fecure the Benefit thereof to the Heirs or Family of fuch Papift or Perfon profeffing the Popifh Religion, fhall be null and void ; and that all fuch Devifees, and Perfons claiming under fuch Devifes, and their Prefentees, fhall in the like Manner, and by fuch Methods, be com- pelled to ditcover, whether to the beft of their Knowledge and Belief, fuch Devifes were not made with the laid Intent, CAP. XVIII. An Act to continue two feveral Acts therein mentioned ; one for encouraging the Growth of Coffee in his Majetty's Plantations in America, and the other for the better fecuring and encouraging the Trade of his Majefty's Sugar Colonies in America.

' VV Publick, and are fo near expiring, that it is fit they fhould now be continued ;' Be it enacted bv the King's moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual ani Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame, That an Act paffed in the fifth Year of his prefent Majefty's Reign, intituled, An Aft for encouraging the Grozvtb of Coffee In his Majefy's Plantations in America, which was to be in Force from the twenty- fifth Day of March one thouiand feven hundred and thirty-five, to the twenty-fifth Day of March one thoufand feven hundred and thirty-nine, and from thence to the End of the then next Seffion of Parlia- ment, fhall be, and the fame is hereby continued from the Time therein limited for the Expiration there- of, for the Term of feven Years, and from thence to the End of the then next Seffion of Parliament. II. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That an Act made in the fixth Year of his prefent Majefty's Reign, intituled, An Ad for the better fecurmg and encouraging the Trade of his Majefy's Sugar Colonies in America, which was to be in Force from the twenty-fourth Day of June one thoufand feven hundred and thirty-three, for the Space of five Years, and to the End of the then next Seffion of Parliament, fhall be, and the fame is hereby continued from the Time therein limited for the Expiration thereof, for the further Term of feven Years, and from thence to the End of the then next Seffion of Parliament. CAP. XIX. An Act for the more effectual fecuring the Payment of Rents, and preventing Frauds by Tenants. HERE A S the feveral Laws heretofore made for the better Security of Rents, and to prevent Frauds committed by Tenants, have net proved fufficient to obtain the •goo'd Ends and Purpofes < defigned thereby, but rather the fraudulent Practices of Tenants, and the Mifchief intended by the 4 faid Acts to be prevented, have oT late Year, increafed, to the great Lofs and Damage of their LefTors or Landlords ;' For Remedy whereof, may it pleafe your molt Excellent Majefty, that it may be en- acted, and be it enacted by the King's -moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Au- thority of the fame, That from and after the twenty-fourth Day of June in the Year of our Lord one thou- fand feven hundred and thirty-eight, in cafe any Tenant or Tenants, Leffee or Leffees, for Life or Lives, Term of Years, at Will, Sufferance, or otherwise, of any Meffuages, Lands, Tenements, or Hereditaments, upon the Demife or holding whereof any Rent is or fhall be reserved, due, or made payable, (hall fraudulently or clandeftinely convey away, or carry off or from fuch Premiffes, his, her or their Goods or Chatties, to prevent the Landlord orLeffor, Landlords or LefTors, from diftraining the fame for Ar- rears of Rent fo referved, due, or made payable ; it (hall and may be lawful to and for every Landlord or Leffor, Landlords or LefTors, within that Part of Great Britain called England, Dominion of Wales, or the Town of Berivick upon Tweed, or any Perfon or Perfons by him, her, or them for that Purpofe lawfully impowered, within the Space of thirty Days next enfuing &ch conveying away or carrying dff fuch
