Pyle, Legard Sparham, James Hides, and Peter Saintbill, Noah Rout, John JVeflbrook, William Sinn/, and James Phillips, and fuch five other Perfons as fhall hereafter be elected and appointed for that PurpU , in purfuance of this Act, and as is herein after mentioned, (hall'be, and they are hereby cunfticutcd and appointed the Court of Affiftants of the Company of Surgeons made, eftabliflied and incorporated by Act; and that they (hall continue in, and hold, enjoy, and exercife the faid Office during their natural Lives refpectively, or until they fhall rcfpedlivcly be removed out of the faid Office, purfuant and ac- cording to the By-laws, Rules, and Conftitutions of the fame Company. VI. And it is hereby further enacted, That it fhall and may be lawful to and for the faid John Ranby, Maftrri, A . t ,„ Jofeph Sandford, William Chefclden, Ambrofe Diekins, William Petty, John Shipton, John Hayward, jeihn meet on' July », Freke, William Pyle, Legard Sparham, James Hickes, Peter Sainthill, Noah Roul, John Wejlbrook, ll'illiam "745 i Singleton, and James Phillips, to meet at or in fuch Place as the faid John Ranby, Jofeph Sandford, and William Chcfelden, or any two of them, fhall appoint, on the firft Day of July one thoufand feven hundred and forty-five, between the Hours of ten and two of the Clock of the fame Day ; and then and there to t0 complect 'he elect, choofe, and appoint, out of the Freemen of the faid Company or Coi poration of Surgeons eftabliflied Court of Affilr- and incorporated by this Act, by the Majority of Votes of fuch of the faid fixtcen Perfons herein before antitotheNum- appointed to be of the Court of Affiftants, who fhall be prefent at fuch Meeting, fo many other Perfons bcr of "' to be of the Court of Affiftants of the fame Company or Corporation, as will make the Number twenty- one, to continue in the faid Office for and during their natural Lives refpectively, or until they fhall be refpectively removed out of the faid Office. VII. And it is further enacted, That the Mafter, Governors, and Court of Affiftants for the Time Annual Meet- being, of the faid Company of Surgeons made, eftabliflied, and incorporated by this Act, fhall, upon int: to choofe the firft Thurfday in the Month of July in the Year one thoufand feven hundred and forty-fix ; and or. office "- the firft Thurfday in the Month of July in every fucceeding Year, meet at fuch Place as the Mafter and Governors of the fame Company for the Time being, or any two of them fhall appoint ; and then and there elect, choofe, and appoint, out of their Body, by the Majority of Votes of fuch of the faid Mafter, Governors, and Court of Affiftants, who (hall be then prefent, onePerfon to be Principal Mafter o Go- vernor, and two other Perfons to be Governors or Wardens of the faid Company or Corporation of Sur- geons, eftabliflied and incorporated by this Act, for the then fucceeding Year ; and then and there alfo, in like manner, elect, choofe, and appoint, out of their own Body fuch other Perfon or Perfons, to be Examiner or Examiners of Surgeons, for the fame Company, in the Place or Stead of fuch Examiner or Examiners, as fhall have happened to die, or have been removed from the faid Office of Examiner, in the the then next preceding Year ; and alfo in like manner, elect, choofe, and appoint, out of the Freemen of the faid Company or Corporation of Surgeons eftabliflied and incorporated by this Act, fuch Perfon or Perfons to be of the Court of Affiftants of the fame Cympany or Corporation, in the Place and Stead of fuch Perfon or Perfons who fhall have happened -to die in, or have been removed from, the faid Office of Court of Affiftants, in the then next preceding Year. VIII. And it is hereby further enacted, That the faid Company of Surgeons made, eftabliflied, and company of incorporated by this Act, and their Succeflors, and all Perfons who fhall be Freemen of the fame Com- Surgeons to en- pany or Corporation, fhall and may, from time to time, and at all Times for ever hereafter, have, joy the fame hold, and enjoy all and every fuch and the fame Liberties, Privileges, Franchifes, Powers, and Autho- ^""leges, & c. rities, as the Members of the faid United Company or Corporation, being Freemen of the faid Company, orLetterTpatent' and admitted and approved Surgeons, within the Rules of the faid Company and Corporation, could or might refpectively have had, held, and enjoyed, by virtue of the faid recited Act of Union or Incorpora- tion, and the faid Letters Patent of his faid late Majefty King Charles the Firft refpectively, and other the Royal Grants, Charters, and Patents, therein mentioned and referred to, fo far as the fame relate to the Art or Science of Surgery only, and not otherwife ; and that in as full, ample, and beneficial Man- ner, to all Intents and Purpofes, as if the fame had in and by this prefent Act been exprefly repeated and re-enacted ; and that they, and all fuch who already have been, or hereafter fhall be, examined and ap- proved, purfuant to the Rules of the faid Company, fhall be entitled to practice freely, and without Re- ftraint, the Art and Science of Surgery, throughout all and every his Majefty's Dominions; any Law or Cuftom to the contrary notwithftanding. IX. And it is hereby further enacted, That from and after the faid firft Day of July one thoufand feven Candidates to hundred and forty-five, the Examiners of the Company of Surgeons eftabliflied by this AcT: fhall, and they ftr ™ as Surgeons are hereby required, from time to time, upon Requeft to them made, to examine every Perfon who fliall be °[ me " e s s ^! C R J" a Candidate to be appointed to ferve as a Surgeon, a Surgeon's Mate, of any Regiment, Troop, Company, De examined. Hofpital, or Garifon of Soldiers in the Service of his Majefty, his Heirs, or Succeflors, in like Manner as they do or fhall examine any Surgeon or Surgeons to be appointed to ferve on Board any Ship or Vefiel in the Service of his Majefty, his Heirs or Succeflors. X.
