Provided always, That no Maimer of Glafs fhall be obliged to go or fend further than the Mar- whereto make j^ T own w here his or her Glafs is made, or the .next Market Town to the Place where his or her Glafs theit Entries. ^ made, for the making of fuch Entries as aforefaid. GUfs Maker XV. And be it further cna£led by the Authority aforefaid, That all and every Perfon and Perfons vhcn to pay the whatfoever, who fhall make or caufe to be made any Glafs in London, or within the Limits of the weekly E '" tics - Bills of Mortality, fhall within four Weeks, and all and every Perfon and Perfons whatfoever, who fhall make or caufe to be made any Glafs in any other Part of Great Britain, fhall v/ithin fix Weeks after he, fhe or they fhall make, or ought to have made fuch Entry as aforefaid, pay and clear off all the faid Du- ties for Glafs, which fhall be due from him, her or them refpectively ; and that all and every fuch Maker of Glafs, who mall refufe or negle<£t to make fuch Payment as aforefaid, fhall forfeit and lofe Penalty. f r every fuch Offence double the Sum of the faid Duty, whereof the Payment fhall be fo refufed or neglected. Exportation of XVI. Provided always, and be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That it fhall and may be Glafs. lawful to and for any Perfon or Perfons who fhall have actually paid his Majefty's Duties by this Act payable for any Quantity of Glafs whatfoever, made from any of the Materials charged as aforefaid, and to and for any otner Perfon or Perfons who fhall buy, or be lawfully intitled to any fuch Quantity of Glafs, from the faid Perfon or Perfons who actually paid his Majefty's Duties for the fame, to export fuch Glafs for any foreign Parts by way of Merchandize, giving fufficient Security before the Clipping thereof for Exportation, that the particular Quantity of Glafs, which fhall be intended to be ex- poitcd as aforefaid, and every Part thereof, fhall be fhipped and exported, and that the fame, or any Part thereof, fhall not be relanded, or brought again into any Part or Parts of Great Britain; which Security the Cuftomer or Collector of the refpettive Port for fuch Exportation, is hereby directed and authorized to take in his Majefty Name and to his Ufe. Glafs dipped for XVII. Provided always, That if after the fhipping of any fuch Glafs to be exported as aforefaid, and Ixpiination, and the giving or tendring fuch Security as aforefaid, in order to obtain the Allowances or Drawbacks herein rcianced; a f ter mentioned, the Glafs fo fhipped to be exported, or any of it, mall be relanded in any Part of Penalty. Great Britain; that then, and in every fuch Cafe, over and above the Penalty of the Bond, which fhall be levied and recovered to his Majefty's Ufe, all the G&fe which fhall be landed, or the Value thereof, fhall be forfeited. Debenture and XVIII. And it is alfo hereby enacted, That any Perfon or Perfons, who fhall export any Glafs to any Drawback on foreign Parts, fhall or may make Proof upon Oath, or by fuch Affirmation as aforefaid, that the Duty of Glafs exported. r ucn Glafs hath been paid according to this Act (which Oath or Affirmation the Collector who received the faid Duty is hereby required and impowered to adminifter) and thereupon the faid Collector for the faid Duty upon Glafs, fhall give to fuch Perfon or Perfons gratis a Certificate or Certificates, expreffing the Kinds and Weight of fuch Glafs, and the Duties paid for the fame, purfuant to this Act ; which Certi- ficate being produced to the Cuftomer or Collector of the Port where the faid Glafs fhall be exported, and Exporter to Oath or Affirmation as aforefaid, being alfo made by the Exporter, before the faid Cuftomer or Collec- make Oath. tor f t ne p or t (who is hereby alfo authorized and required to adminifter the fame without Fee or Charge) that the faid Glafs fo exported is the fame mentioned in the faid Certificate, then the faid Cuftomer or Debenture. Collector of the Port where fuch Glafs fhall be exported, fhall give to the Exporter thereof a Debenture, expreffing the true Weight of the Glafs fo exported; which Debenture being produced to the Collector, appointed to receive the faid Duties upon Glafs, in fuch County or Place where the faid Glafs was ex- ported, he fhall forthwith pay to the Perfons or Agents fo exporting the fame, a Drawback or Allbw- Allowanee. ance of nine Shillings and four Pence per Hundred Weight for all Crown, Plate, Flint or White Glafs; and two Shillings and four Pence per Hundred Weight for all Green Glafs made in Great Britain ; and if fuch Collector fhall not have Money in his Hands to pay the fame, then the faid refpective Commiffioners of the Excife in Great Britain are required to pay the faid Debenture out of the Duties upon Glafs arifing by this Act ; any thing in this Act to the contrary notwithftanding. ' XIX. And whereas the Importation of Glafs into Ireland from foreign Parts, and the Exportation of ' Ga.k from Ireland, may be of great Prejudice to the Manufacture of Glafs in Great Britain;' Be is No foreign Gkf3 further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That from and after the firft Day of May one thoufand feven to be imported hu ndred and forty-fix, no Perfon or Perfons whatfoever fhall import, or caufe to be imported into the into Ireland. Kingdom of Ireland, any Crown, Plate or Flint Glafs, or White Glafs, by what Name foever it is, or hereafter may be called or known, or any common Bottles, or other Green Glafs, or any Glafs of any Kind or Denomination whatfoever, other than the Manufacture of Gr eat Britain. And if any Crown, Plate or Flint Glafs, or White Glafs, or any common Bottles, or other Green Glafs, or any Glafs of any Kind or Denomination whatfoever, other than the Manufacture of Great Britain, fhall be landed or Penalty, put on Shore out of any Ship or Veffel in Ireland, all fuch Glafs, of what kind foever, as fhall be fo landed, or put on Shore, or taken out of any Ship or VefTel in Ireland, fhall be forfeited and deftroyed within ten Days after the fame fhall be lawfully condemned ; and alfo the Ship or Veffel in which the feme was imported, be forfeited, with her Tackle, Apparel and Furniture; and the Mafter of fuch Ship or Veffel, and every other Perfon or Perfons concerned in importing of the fame, or that fhall have been aiding or affifting in the landing or putting the fame on Shore, fhall forfeit and pay the Sum of ten Shil- lings for every Pound Weight thereof; and fo in Proportion for any greater or lefs Quantity. Matters oT Ships XX.
