' And whereas an Act was made in the fixth Year of the Reign of his late Majefty King George AG. 6 Geo. 2. c. 13. ' the Second, intituled, An Ail for the better fecuring and encouraging the Trade of his Majefty s Sugar ' Colonies in America, which was to continue in force for five Years, to be computed from the ' twenty-fourth Day of June one thoufand feven hundred and thirty-three, and to the End of the ' then next Seffion of Parliament ; and which, by feveral fubfequent Acts made in the eleventh, the ' nineteenth, the twenty-fixth, the twenty-ninth, and the thirty-firft Years of the Reign of his faid ' late Majefty, was, from Time to Time, continued ; and, by an Act made in the firft Year of the ' Reign of his prefent Majefty, was further continued until the end of this prefent Seffion of Parlia- ' ment ; and although the faid Act hath been found in fome degree ufeful, yet it is highly expedient ' that the fame fhould be altered, enforced, and made more effectual ; but, in confideration of the ' great Diftance of feveral of the faid Colonies and Plantations from this Kingdom, it will be proper ' further to continue the faid Act for a fhort Space, before any Alterations and Amendments fhall ' take effect, in order that all Perfons concerned may have due and proper Notice thereof;' Be it therefore enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That the faid Act made in the fixth Year of the Reign of his late Majefty King George the Second, intituled, An Alt for the better fecuring and encouraging the Trade of his Majefty s Sugar Colonies in America, fhall be, and the fame is hereby further continued further continued to 30 until the thirtieth Day of September one thoufand feven hundred and fixty- four. VI.
