பழமொழி.
  1. துணையோடல்லது வழிபோகாதே.
    Do not go on a journey without a companion.

  2. துப்பாக்கி வயிற்றில் பீரங்கி பிறந்ததுபோல.

  3. தும்பர் அம்பலம்.
    The wicked will be abandoned.

  4. துயரப்பட்டால் ஆறுதல் உண்டு, துன்பப்பட்டால் தேறுதல் உண்டு.
    Grief leads to comfort, suffering to patience.

  5. துரியோதனன் குடிக்குச் சகுனிபோல.
    Like Saguni to the family of Duryodhana.
    Saguni was the maternal uncle of Duriyodhana, and had, like the latter, ninety-nine brothers. Duriyodhana was one of the kings whose exploits are narrated in the Epic Mahabharata. He imprisoned Saguni and his ninety-nine brothers. to prevent their combination against him, feeding them on gruel which was doled out from day to day. They all died of inanition excepting Saguni, who managed to secure sufficient nourishment to preserve his life. He afterwards became the counsellor of Duriyodhana and from sinister motives gave such advice as led to the ruin of his royal master, who lost his kingdom and also his ninety-nine brothers.

    Anger occasioned by a trifle may extend to the sky before it ceases.

  10. துரும்பு தூண் ஆனால் தூண் எவ்வளவு ஆக வேண்டும்?
    If a straw become a pillar, how great the pillar must be?
