B commonly as the English B: But in the Middle of a word, except it comes of the Latin, and sometimes in the Beginning, it is pronounc’d like V Consonant: And sometimes B and V are written one for the other; As labór, lavór; baylár, vaylar; vóz, boz, a Voice.

B in the Middle of a word, before a Consonant, is cast away, to soften the Pronunciation; as, for subtil, sutíl.

C before a, 0, or u, is as k ; before e or i, as the Tialian t before ia or io in Pradentia, Fu/tificatione ; as Ciruela : Before e Confonant it is cut off; As, Pao, Pato, a Covenant. Mark’d thus c, it is call’d Cerilla, or Cedilla ; and pronounc’d Ths ; As cufre,

D in the Beginning, like the Englifh : Except Dios ; in which, as in the Middle and End, it is pronounc’d as dh ; as, Cada, Cadha.

Except, guéro, aguéro, garguero, jirguero, hoguero, Triguéro, Ciguéna, pediguéno, hala- gueno, Siguenga, virguenca, aguélo, deguello, requeldo, unguento ; and words that come of the Infinitive in guar.
