(he d. v. p., being killed in the Dutch wars 1666) of George Devereux, of Yayuor, co. Montgomery (by Bridget, da. and h. of Arthur Thick, of Vaynor afsd.), which George was s. and h. of Sir George Devereux, of Sheldon Hall, co. "Warwick (</. 1665) yr. br. of Walter, 5th Viscount. He was b. 1661 ; was M.P. for Montgomery, 1 694-95, and 169S— 1700 ; sue. to ihepeeraje, 9 Aug. 1700 ; Lord Lieut, of co. Moutgomeiy, 171 1-14. He m. about 1693 (•') The creation of Baronets on this 25 Nov. should be attributed to the year 1611 not 1612, as generally is done. See an article by J- 0. William (Tracy). 4th Viscount Tracy of Rathcoole [I.], but d. s.p.m. in or before 1688. (") Of her children by this marriage (1) Norborne Berkeley became Lord Botetourt in 1764 and (2) Elizabeth, Duchess of Beaufort, is ancestress of the succeeding Lords Botetourt.
