Publications: translation of Aitchison’s treaties into Urdu; annals of Rajaputana in Urdu; the history of Bhurtpore in English; the Loyal Rajaputana, a Record of the services of the Rajputana Chiefs to the British Government; and a history of Rajputana from the time of the advent of the British into Rajaputana. Sahespur, Raja of; Kishen Kumar; b. 1848; educ: privately; great g.s. of Rai Athmaram, who was Chakladar of Bijnor; his grand father, Pardaman Kishen, rendered service to the British in the Mutiny of 1857 and received a liberal grant of estates; the present Raja has also inherited estates from his maternal grandfather; is a good scholar and possesses a valuable library; has contributed liberally to the Agra College and the M.A.O. College, Aligarh; has founded scholarships for poor students, has built and endowed a hospital and an asylum for lepers; is Honorary Magistrate and 8th in the list of Provincial Durbaris; title of Raja made hereditary, and confirmed, 1882. Publications: Diwan Vikar, Iktirai Jahid, and some poems. Address: Sahespur, Bilari Post, Moradabad district, U.P., India.

Sailana, Raja of; H H. Raja Sir Jeswant Singh, K.C.I.E. (1903); A Rathor Rajput; b. 1864; s. of late Maharaja Bhavani Singhji, Jagirdar of Semlai; adopted by H.H. Raja Duleh Singhji; succeeded, 1895; thrice married; 5 s. and 3 d.; educ: Daly (Rajakumar) College, Indore; area of the State, 450 sq. miles; population 25,731; salute, 11 guns; received a Kaiser-i-hind (gold medal); offered a motor-car for ambulance, 1915. Sakti, Raja of; Rup Narayan Singh;. belongs to a family of Gond Rajputs; succeeded to gaddi, 1892; 16th in descent from Hari Singh, the founder of the family; title of Raja confirmed by the British Government, 1836; area of the State, 138 sq. miles; population, 23,000; the State is in charge of a Political Agent under the direct supervision of the Commissioner of Chhatisgarh Dn.
