PUBLIC LAW 104-208—SEPT. 30, 1996 110 STAT. 3009-230 Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985, as amended, is transmitted by the President to the Congress. UNITED STATES GEOLOGICAL SURVEY SURVEYS, INVESTIGATIONS, AND RESEARCH For an additional amount for surveys, investigations, and research, $1,138,000, to remain available until expended, to address damage caused by hurricanes and floods: Provided, That Congress hereby designates this amount as an emergency requirement pursuant to section 251(b)(2)(D)(i) of the Balanced Budget and Emergfency Deficit Control Act of 1985, as amended: Provided further, That this amount shall be available only to the extent that an official budget request for a specific dollar amount, that includes designation of the entire amount as an emergency requirement as defined in the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985, as amended, is transmitted by the President to the Congress. BUREAU OF INDIAN AFFAIRS OPERATION OF INDIAN PROGRAMS For an additional amount for operation of Indian programs, $6,600,000, to remain available until expended, to repair damage caused by floods and to restore Indian lands damaged by fire: Provided, That Congress hereby designates this amount as an emergency requirement pursuant to section 251(b)(2)(D)(i) of the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985, as amended: Provided further. That this amount shall be available only to the extent that an official budget request for a specific dollar amount, that includes designation of the entire amount as an emergency requirement as defined in the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985, as amended, is transmitted by the President to the Congress. CONSTRUCTION For an additional amount for construction, $6,000,000, to remain available until expended, to repair damage caused by floods: Provided, That Congress hereby designates this amount as an emergency requirement pursuant to section 251(b)(2)(D)(i) of the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985, as amended: Provided further. That this amount shall be available only to the extent that an official budget request for a specific dollar amount, that includes designation of the entire amount as an emergency requirement as defined in the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985, as amended, is transmitted by the President to the Congress.
