110 STAT. 4396 CONCURRENT RESOLUTIONS—APR. 16, 1996 (c) EXEMPTIONS.—T h is section shall not apply to the employ- ment of apprentices or student-learners under the conditions prescribed in section 570.50 (b) and (c). §0570.62 Occupations involved in the operation of bakery machines (Order 11) The following occupations involved in the operation of powerdriven bakery machines are particularly hazardous for the employ- ment of minors between 16 and 18 years of age: (1) The occupations of operating, assisting to operate, or setting up, adjusting, repairing, oiling, or cleaning any horizontal or vertical dough mixer; batter mixer; bread dividing, rounding, or molding machine; dough brake; dough sheeter; combination bread slicing and wrapping machine; or cake cutting beuid saw. (2) The occupation of setting up or adjusting a cookie or cracker machine. §0570.63 Occupations involved in the operation of paperproducts machines (Order 12) (a) FINDINGS AND DECLARATION OF FACT. —The following occupations are particularly hazardous for the employment of minors between 16 and 18 years of age: (1) The occupations of operation or assisting to operate any of the following power-driven paper products machines: (i) Arm-t3rpe wire stitcher or stapler, circular or band saw, comer cutter or mitering machine, corrugating and single-or-double-facing machine, envelope die-cutting press, guillotine paper cutter or shear, horizontal bar scorer, laminating or combining machine, sheeting machine, scrappaper baler, or vertical slotter. (ii) Platen die-cutting press, platen printing press, or punch press which involves hand feeding of the machine. (2) The occupations of setting-up, adjusting, repairing, oiling, or cleaning these machines including those which do not involve hand feeding. (b) DEFINITIONS.—(1) The term "operating or assisting to operate" shall mean all work which involves starting or stopping a machine covered by this section, placing or removing materials into or from the machine, or any other work directly involved in operating the machine. The term does not include the stacking of materials by an employee in an area nearby or adjacent to the machine where such employee does not place the materials into the machine. (2) The term "paper products machine" shall mean all powerdriven machines used in: (i) The remanufacture or conversion of paper or pulp into a finished product, including the preparation of such materials for re-cycling; or (ii) The preparation of such materials for disposal. The term applies to such machines whether they are used in establishments that manufacture converted paper or pulp products, or in any other type of manufacturing or nonmanufacturing establishment. (c) EXEMPTIONS.— Th is section shall not apply to the employ- ment of apprentices or student-learners under the conditions prescribed in section 570.50 (b) and (c).
