(12) Section 202(a) of title 35, United States Code, is amended— (A) by striking "iv)" and inserting "(iv)"; and (B) by striking the second period after "Department of Energy" at the end of the first sentence. (b) OTHER PROVISIONS OF LAW. — (1)(A) Section 45 of the Act of Julv 5, 1946 (commonly referred to as the "Trademark Act of 1946"; 15 U.S.C. 1127), is amended by striking "The term 'Commissioner' means the Commissioner of Patents and Trademarks." and inserting "The term 'Director' means the Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office.". (B) The Act of July 5, 1946 (commonly referred to as the "Trademark Act of 1946"; 15 U.S.C. 1051 et seq.), except for section 17, as amended by 4716 of this subtitle, is amended by striking "Commissioner" each place it appears and inserting "Director". (C) Sections 8(e) and 9(b) of the Trademark Act of 1946 are each amended by striking "Commissioner" and inserting "Director". (2) Section 500(e) of title 5, United States Code, is amended by striking "Patent Office" and inserting "United States Patent and Trademark Office". (3) Section 5102(c)(23) of title 5, United States Code, is amended to read as follows: "(23) administrative patent judges and designated administrative patent judges in the United States Patent and Trade- (4) Section 5316 of title 5, United States Code (5 U.S.C. 5316) is amended by striking "Commissioner of Patents, Department of Commerce.", "Deputy Commissioner of Patents and Trademarks.", "Assistant Commissioner for Patents.", and "Assistant Commissioner for Trademarks.". (5) Section 9(p)(l)(B) of the Small Business Act (15 U.S.C. 638(p)(l)(B)) is amended to read as follows: "(B) the Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the United States Patent and Ti*3.QGTTi3.i'k Office 3_nd** (6) Section 12 of the Act of February 14, 1903 (15 U.S.C. 1511) is amended— (A) by striking "(d) Patent and Trademark Office;" and inserting: "(4) United States Patent and Trademark Office"; and (B) by redesignating subsections (a), (b), (c), (e), (f), and (g) as paragraphs (1), (2), (3), (5), (6), and (7), respectively and indenting the paragraphs as so redesignated 2 ems to the right. (7) Section 19 of the Tennessee Valley Authority Act of 1933 (16 U.S.C. 83 Ir) is amended— (A) by striking "Patent Office of the United States" and inserting "United States Patent and Trademark Office"; and
