‘‘( 2 ) the Secretary of the N avy, with respect to matters concerning the Navy, the M arine Corps, and the Coast G uard when it is operating as a service in the Navy; ‘‘(3) the Secretary of the Air F orce, with respect to matters concerning the Air Force; and ‘‘( 4 ) the Secretary of Defense, with respect to personnel of the Department of Defense. ‘‘(i) D U RATION OF AUTHORITY.—A bonus may not be paid under subsection (a) with respect to any referral that occurs after December 31, 2 0 08.’’. (2) C L ERICAL A M ENDMENT S .— T he table of sections at the beginning of such chapter is amended by inserting before the item relating to section 1031 the following new item

(c) REPEAL OF SUPERSEDED ARMY REFERRAL B ONUS AUTHORITY.— (1) REPEAL.—Section 6 4 5 of the National Defense Authori z ation Act for Fiscal Y ear 2006 (Public L aw 10 9– 163) is repealed. (2) PAYMENT OF B ONUSES UNDER SUPERSEDED AUTHORITY.— Any bonus payable under section 645 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2006, as in effect before its repeal by paragraph (1), shall remain payable after that date and shall be paid in accordance with the provisions of such section, as in effect on the day before the date of the enactment of this Act. SEC.672 . E XPAN S IO NO F E DU CA T ION L OAN R EPA YM ENT PRO G RAM FOR MEM B ERSOFT H E SELECTED RESER V E. (a) ADDITIONAL E DUCATIONAL LOANS ELI G IBLE FOR REPAY - MENT.—Paragraph (1) of subsection (a) of section 16301 of title 10, U nited States Code, is amended— (1) by stri k ing ‘‘or’’ at the end of subparagraph (B); (2) by striking the period at the end of subparagraph (C) and inserting ‘‘; or’’; and (3) by inserting after subparagraph (C) the following new subparagraph: ‘‘(D) any loan incurred for educational purposes made by a lender that is— ‘‘(i) an agency or instrumentality of a State; ‘‘(ii) a financial or credit institution (including an insur- ance company) that is sub j ecttoe x amination and super- vision by an agency of the United States or any State; ‘‘(iii) a pension fund approved by the Secretary for purposes of this section; or 1 1 9Sta t .3 31 0 .
