‘‘(4) other resources recogni z ed by the Secretary, including e q uipment and supplies, cash contributions from non-Federal sources, transportation expenses, in-kind or discounted program services, indirect costs, and facility usage . ’’. (d) A CTIV ITI ES .—Section 404D (20 U .S.C. 10 7 0a – 24) is amended to read as follows: ‘ ‘ SEC.40 4 D . A C TIV ITIES. ‘‘(a) R E QU I R E D ACTIVITIES.—Each eligible entity receiving a grant under this chapter shall provide comprehensive mentoring, outreach, and supportive services to students participating in the programs under this chapter. Such activities shall include the fol- lowing: ‘‘(1) P roviding information regarding financial aid for post- secondary education to participating students in the cohort described in section 404B(d)(1)(A) or to priority students described in subsection (d). ‘‘(2) Encouraging student enrollment in rigorous and chal- lenging curricula and coursework, in order to reduce the need for remedial coursework at the postsecondary level. ‘‘(3) I mproving the number of participating students who— ‘‘(A) obtain a secondary school diploma; and ‘‘(B) complete applications for and enroll in a program of postsecondary education. ‘‘(4) In the case of an eligible entity described in section 404A(c)(1), providing for the scholarships described in section 404E. ‘‘(b) PER M ISSI BL E ACTIVITIES FO RST A TES A N D PARTNERS H I P S.— An eligible entity that receives a grant under this chapter may use grant funds to carry out one or more of the following activities: ‘‘(1) Providing tutors and mentors, who may include adults or former participants of a program under this chapter, for eligible students. ‘‘(2) Conducting outreach activities to recruit priority stu- dents described in subsection (d) to participate in program activities. ‘‘(3) Providing supportive services to eligible students.
