SEC. 104 2 . REPORT ON J OINT MODELING AND SIMULATION ACTI V I - TIES. (a) REPORT RE Q U I RE D .—Not later than December 31, 2008, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report that describes current and planned j oint mod- eling and simulation activities within the Department of Defense. (b) MATTER S TOBEIN C LUDED.—The report under subsection (a) shall include the following

(1) An identification and description of how joint modeling and simulation activities support the development of capabili- ties to meet joint and service-uni q ue military requirements and needs, in areas including but not limited to joint training, experimentation, systems acquisition, test and evaluation, assessment, and planning. (2) A description of how joint modeling and simulation activities are supportive of Department-level strategies and goals. (3) For each appropriate element of the Department of Defense and each appropriate combatant command—
