IMPROVED PREVENTION AND RESPONSE TO ALLE G ATIONS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT INVOLVING MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES. (a) P REV E NTIO N A N D RE SP ONSE P L AN. — Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the Committees on Armed Ser v ices of the Senate and the H ouse of Re p resentatives a revised plan for the implementa - tion of policies aimed at preventing and responding effectively to sexual assaults involving members of the Armed Forces. T he revised implementation plan shall include, at a minimum, the following elements

(1) New initiatives aimed at reducing the number of sexual assaults, including timelines for implementation of such initia- tives. (2) Re q uirements for monitoring and reporting on progress in implementation of such initiatives and methods to measure the effectiveness of plans that implement the policies of the Department of Defense regarding sexual assaults involving members of the Armed Forces. (3) Training programs for j udge advocates, criminal inves- tigators, commanders, prospective commanding officers, senior enlisted members, and personnel with less than six months of active-duty service. (4) I nformation about the status of implementation, funding requirements and budgetary implications, and overall utility of data reporting systems on incidents of sexual assault involving members of the Armed Forces. (5) Actions taken to implement recommendations of the Defense Task Force on Sexual Assault in the M ilitary Services established pursuant to section 576 of the Ronald W. Reagan National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2005 (Public Law 108–375; 10 U.S.C. 4331 note). (6) Information about the funding needed to fully imple- ment initiatives aimed at preventing and responding to sexual assault involving members of the Armed Forces. (b) SE XU AL ASSAULT MEDI C AL FORENSIC E XA M INATIONS.— (1) CAPA B ILIT Y TO CONDUCT TIMELY SEXUAL ASSAULT MED- ICAL F ORENSIC EXAMINATIONS IN COMBAT Z ONES.—Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the Committees on Armed Services of the Senate and the House of Representatives a report evaluating the protocols and capabilities of the Armed Forces to conduct timely and effective sexual assault medical forensic examinations in combat zones. The report shall include, at a minimum, the following: (A) The current availability of sexual assault medical forensic examination protocols, trained personnel, and req- uisite equipment in combat zones.
