WVitcher United States pension agent, upon the assistant treasurer at New York, and heretofore lost in transmission through the mails: Provided, That the Secretary of the Treasury shall be satisfied, by proof, of the loss of said original check, and the said William A. Gardner shall execute and deliver a bond, with security to be approved by the said Secretary, for double the amount of said check, to indemnity the United States. Approved, June 7, 1882.
