Deo. 18, 1882. Be it enacted by the Senate and House %hRepruentatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, at allpayments made by the Daniel T.Wells. §gasters of the Army to Daniel T. Wells as second lieutenant in the R°I*°f °£ ' Michigan Volunteer Cavalry for service as second lieutenant in said regiment from the sixteenth day of December, eighteen hundred and sixty-one, and as hret lieutenant in the same regiment after the mh day of July, eighteen hundred and sixty-two are hereby legalized, and shall be in all respects as valid as if said Wells had been duly commissioned and mustered in said grades at the times mentioned; but no pgyment in excess of the proper pay and allowances of said gradesshall legalized by this act.
