Curtice, late a captain in the Seventh Regiment of New Hampshire Volunteer Infantry, out of any money in the Treasur not otherwise a propriated, the pay and allowances of a cap-tain of intiantry from the third day of J anuary, eighteen hundred an sixty- five, the date at which he was assigne to duty under his comm1ssion as such, to the first day of May, eighteen hun red and sixty-five,_ the ‘ date of his muster as a captain, de ucting therefrom the pay rece1ved by him as a first sergeant duringlpaid period. _ _ Record cormcwd. Sec. 2. That the Secretary of ar be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to amend the record of the said Grovenor A. Curtice, and to muster him as a captain of infantry, to date January third, eighteen hundred and sixty-five, the date at which he entered 1§on duty under the commission issued him by the governor of ew Hampshire as of that rank, and dated December twenty-second, eighteen hundred and sixty-four. Be it enacted by the Senate and House og Representatives of the g?nfé{foB¤°¤· United States of America in Congress assem led, That the Secretary ` of the Treasuryébe, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay to John K. Le aron, ex-postmaster at Elgin, Kane County, Illinois, the sum of one thousand dollars, being the amount (paid out by him for extra clerk-hire prior to July third, eighteen hun red and eighty- three, and not provided for by the Post-Cinco Department. Approved, April 9, 1888. April 9, 1888. CHAP. 74.—A11 act for the relief of Captain John Burkhart. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the gm? United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary ' of the Treasury be, and he is hereb , authorized and directed to pay to John Burk art, late captain ot Company F, One hundred and forty-sixth Regiment Indiana Volunteers in the late war, out of any money not otherwise appro riated, the pay and emoluments of captain of said company from hdarch first, eighteen hundred and sixty- nve to the twenty-t ird day of June, eighteen hundred and sixty- five, and also the sum of sixty-four dollars, being mone expended by him in the transportation of nfty-one enlisted men ofr said company from Brookvi le, Indiana, to Sunman, Indiana, by stage; denoting from_ the sum found due him as the pay and emoluments of captain of said company for the periods above specined the sums of • money that have been paid to the said John Burkhart for military service, either as a lprivate or otherwise, rendered by him during the periods above spec' ed.
