Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Regrresentatives of the Thomas Nues. United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary ,,0§‘_5‘e§,’}.f,;,_,§,‘{,,§‘v§j of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay to the personal representatives of '1‘homas Niles, deceased, late of Gloucester, Massachusetts, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of six thousand and fifty dollars, in full compensation, for damages to the land of the said Thomas Niles, deceased, near Gloucester, Massachusetts, by the erection of a permanent fort thereon by the United States in eighteen hundred and sixty-three, for the defense of the harbor of Gloucester. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the ggglmsm 0¤¤>¤¤- United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary ' of the Interior be, and he is here y, authorized and directed to place on the pension-roll the name of John William Cable, of Lawrence County, South Dakota, who served in the Ordnance Department as a soldier of the United States Army during the Mexican war, and by reason of that service is totally and permanently disabled, and that he be granted a pension of twenty-four dollars per month, instead of eight dollars per month, his present rating.
