· Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the ¤*¤"M°'°°l¤¤¤*·*¤ United States eg America in Congress assembled, That the Commissioners of the istrict of Columbia and their successors are hereby authorized and directed to receive and audit all claims that may be u€§_v::¤r;¤¤°y;¤g{,;¤¤ presented to them by holders of special assessment lien certificates, gtentobegudltgd, S' scrip, or stock issuer by the government of the District of Columbia or former municipal corporations in said District, whether on account of paving or other special or local improvements or general taxes, in cases where the security for the payment of such certificates, sciip, or stock has been impaired or estroyed by action of Congress, the courts, the government of the District of Columbia, or former municipal corporations in said District, or where such certificates, scrip, or stock has been issued upon property exempt by law from tax, or are or hereafter may become, from such or any cause, not enforceable a(gainst the property in respect of which they comipsssouers to were issued.
