BIGIIARDSON was elected Speaker pro tempore January twenty-iirst, 1895; Mr. CRISP resumed the duties of Speaker January thirty-first, 1895. - CHAP. 2.-An Act Granting a pension to Mary Martin. December 10. 1894. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the mq mmm. Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the P°""°"· pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the Act df vnzqpm. June twenty-seventh, eighteen hundred and ninety, the name of Mary Martin, widow of Wihiam Martin, late of Company I, Fourth Regi- _ ment of Rhode Island Volunteers: Provided, That in the event the §‘ff,'3*,'{;m_ soldier returns this pension shall cease. Approved, December 10, 1894. CHAP. 4.—An Act To authorize the Secretary of the Interior to issue a duplicate Decanter 13. 1804. of n certain land warrant to Emma A. Ripley. -—-——-——-———--—— Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the 1¤¤¤m•A· Ri1;1¤y· Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized to issue to Emma A. Ripley ,,,I,;'{'Q[’ ”`“`"‘?‘ *° "° duplicate of one Porteriield land warrant issued in pursuance of the Act of Congress approved April eleventh, eighteen hundred and sixty, vcr iz,p.sa•s. numbered sixty, for forty acres, upon satisfactory proof of ownership and loss of same, and the execution of a bond, with good and sntlicient mma. sureties, in double the market value of the warrant so to be issued, to be approved by the Secretary of the Interior, conditioned toindemuify the United States against the presentation by an innocent holder of the alleged lost warrant; and that said duplicate shall have all the legal force and effect as had the original.
