Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United S¤¤¤s¤ M¤¤¤¤1>- States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the P°°°'°°‘ Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Susan Mellsop, dependent mother of James Mellsop, late of Company D, Fifty-first Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, and pay her a pension at the rate of twelve dollars per month, Approved, March 3, 1899. . March 3.1899. CHAP. 526.-An Act Granting an honorable discharge to John H. Smith. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United John H. Smith. States of America in Congress assembled, That the military record of ,,,$,‘,§',.'Q 1‘°"°"m° John H. Smith, late private in Company F, Twelfth Regiment Ohio Cavalry, and late private in Company B, One hundred and twenty- fourth Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry, be corrected, and that the Secretary of War be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to grant him an honorable discharge from the said Company B, One hundred and twenty-fourth Ohio Volunteer Infantry, as of date January sixth, eightrmm. een hundred and sixty-three: Provided, That no pay, bounty, or other N°P"’·°*‘°· emoluments shall become due or payable by virtue of the passage of this Act. Approved, March 3, 1899. CHAP. 52'I.—An Act Allowing Isaiah Mitchell, of Denver, Colorado, seven years ~ M“'°h 3·l8°°· within which to make a final homestead entry upon certain land. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United nant miami. States of America in Congress assembled, That Isaiah Mitchell, of Dencg}; °t:’ jlf5k;° gg,'} ver, Colorado, late a corporal of Company G, One hundred and iiftieth homestead entry, ew. Regiment United States Colored Volunteer Infantry, who, on March twenty-second, eighteen hundred and ninety-three, made a homestead application in the Denver (Colorado) land office for entry of the southwest quarter of section twenty-eight, township two south, of range sixty-tour west, and by reason of disabilities incurred consequent upon his service as a soldier during the late war of the rebellion was com- . pelled to abandon said land, be, and he is hereby, granted further time and until seven years from the passage of this Act within which to motel. make final entry upon said land: Provided, That no adverse claim shall °°”‘“*°"°· exist at the date of the passage of this Act, and that within six months from that date he shall go upon said land and establish his residence thereupon, and that he shall thereafter continue to reside upon and 'cultivate the same as his home for the proper period according to the provisions of the homestead laws. · Approved, March 3, 1899. Singhi, late a mariner in the United States ships Ohio, Congress, North Carolina, Vermont, and §;¤v;·¤-ew Ottawa: Provided, That said Singhi shall not by the passage of this P y'Act be entitled to any bounty or back pay of any kind.
