 way Company to construct a bridge across the White River in Arkansas.

` Be it enacted by the Senate and House ofR@esen tatilvec of the United Q.':*}'°;0§‘{°g1j$kée States of America in Oongreos assembled, That the Newport Bridge, 1 • • ¤ y · • . we and ·re¤·m1¤¤1 Belt and Terminal Rmlway Company, a corporatwn organized and ,E}*}'§,Kd:,?}'}’§eZ,¥ existing under and by virtue of the laws of the State of Arkansas, its P°¤· successors and assigns, be, and they are hereby, authorized to construct and maintain a bridge across the White River, in the State of Arkansas, at a point near the city of Newport, in said State, suitable to the interests of navigation as may hereafter be selected by said railway com ny for crossing said river with its railway line. Said bridge shallxbe constructed to provide for the passage 0 railway trains, and at the option of said railway company, may be used for the passage oi ron. wagons and vehicles of all kinds, and for the transit of animals and for foot passengers for such reasonable rates of toll as may be fixed by said railway company and a proved by the Secretary of War. 1&•w{¤1u:¤r¤¤¤¤~ S1-:0. 2. That said bridge buiit under this Act and subject to its lim- °° pm m °` itations shall be a lawful structure, and shall be recogluized and known as a post route, upon which also no higher charge s all be made for the transmission over the same of the mails, the troops, and munitions of war of the United States than the rate per mile paid for the transportation over the railroad or public highways leading to said brid e, and shall enjoy the rights audp privileges of other posbroads in ghe Hghgesrnvh. ew-. United States; and equal privileges in the use of said bridge shall be ` granted to all telegraph and telep one companies, and the United States shall have the rig t of way across said bridge and its approaches for {Jjargggaiuctm mw postal-telegraph(¥>ux*p0ses: I Hmirlevl, That the bridge herein authorized pam,. to be constructe shall be so kept and managed by the com ny owning and operating it as to afford roper ways and means for th: passage through or under it of vessels, har es, or rafts at all times, both by ¤z¤¤·¤¢¤- day and by night; and there shall ie displayed on said bridge from sunset to sunrise such lights and signals as the Light-House Board Ch shall prescribe._ _ _ _ _ _ ""’°‘· Sec. 3.
