[ Encampment of the Gicand Army of the Republic, to be held rn the Drstrrct of Columbia in the month of October, nineteen hundred and two, and for other purposes incident to said encampment. Resolved by the Semzte and House of Representatives of the United G¤·¤d *3**5 Em States of Ame1-tea in Congressassemb , That the Commissioners of the mgfrhligriglroneé pu- District of Columbia are hereby authorized and directed to make such f,}}§§',§_,°d,,,§°g,§’,§‘T{'§§lb€ special reglulations for the occasion of the encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic, which will take place in the District of Columbia during the month of October, nineteen hundred and two, as they shall deem advisable for the preservation of public order and the protection of life and property, to be in for·ce one week prior to said encampment, during said encampment, and one week subsequent rutrremou. thereto. Such special regulations shall be published in one or more of the daily newspapers of the District of Columbia, and no penalty rescribed for the violation of such regulations shall be enforced until Schedule of <=·*>- Eve days after such publication; and said Commissioners are authorm" m°°` ized and directed to establish a special schedule of fares applicable to ugenslty fer ri<>¤¤· public conveyances in said District during the period aforesaid. Any ` person violating any of the aforesaid regulatrons or the aforesaid schedule of fares shall, upon conviction thereof in the police court of the said District, be liable for such offense to a fine not to exceed one hundred dollars, and in default of payment of such fine to imprisonment in the workhouse (or jail; of said District for not longer than Ar>¤¤>1¤fi=*i¤¤· sixty days. This resolution s all take effect immediately upon its approval, and the sum of eleven thousand dollars, or as much thereof as may be necessary, payable from any money rn the Treasury not otherwise appropriate and from the revenues of the District of Columbia, in equal parts, is hereby appropriated to enable the Commissioners of the District of Columbia to carry out the rovisions of ,,,§,‘;"§g?°m‘°" “‘”‘ this section one of this joint resolution, one thousand dollirrs of which 1>eJ1.p. rm. shall be available for the construction, maintenance, and o eration of public-comfort stations and information booths, under the direction of said Commissioners. ‘"“”"°"°‘°“· Sno, 2.
