The Commissioners of the District of Columbia are author- fu§§*°°“¤¤°°‘*S mm ized to employ in the execution of work the cost of which is payable Expenses paid nom. from the appropriation account created in the District appro riation V°l·*”·P-***8- Act for the fiscal year nineteen hundred and five, approved April twenty-seventh, nineteen hundred and four, and known as the "Miscellaneous trust-fund dqposits., District of Columbia," all necessary inspectors, overseers, oremen, sewer tappers, skilled laborers, mechanics, laborers, special policemen stationed at street-railway crossings, one inspector of gas fitting, two lianitors for laboratories of the Washington and Georgetown Gas Lig t com nies, market master, assistant market master, watchman, and one lagrer for the wholesale producers’ market, horses, carts, and wagons, and to incur all necessary expenses incidental to carrying on such work and necessary for the proper execution thereof, such services and expenses to be paid from said appropriation account. Sec. 6. From and after the approval of·_this Act all per diem *;;,**3; },’;*{,m,m,° employees and other day laborers of the District of Columbia who dar hmmmhave been continuously employed for five working days next preceding the first Monday of September in each year (commonly called Labor Day), and whose employment continues through and beyond said day, may, in the discretion of the Commissioners of the District of Columbia, be granted leave of absence with pay for said da .
