PAY, MISCELLANEOUS. , ¤¢¤•>¤¤**>*° M •¤¤* The Secreta of the Na shall send to Congress at the beginning l°c°ngMs` ~ of its next reglilar sessionvla compdete schedule or list showing the amount in money of all pay under the provisions of this Act and for all allowances for each grade of officers rn the navy, including retired officers, and for all officers included in this Act and for all enhsted men so included. ummm. mr mp The estimates for the sup ort of the navy shall hereafter show. ’°§g{,§l§,§{;,,S_ under the head of Pay of tlie Navy, the sums allowed for pay of ` officers belonging to the line, to the several departments of the stafl`, and to the retired list; the estimates to show under each head the amount allowed for pay proper, for increases due to longevity and foreign service, and for pay at sea rates to officers employed on shore; together with the total number of warrant and lpetty officers and sea- ` men of the several grades and designations, inc uding as to each class the amount allowed for a proper and for longevity or service increases. The estimates sfialll mclude a list giving the rates of pay for . l all tty officers and other enlisted men of the navy. ¥i¤¤¤¤¤¤¤°¤¤ •¤· lfdr commissions and interest; transportation of funds; exchange; Dua mileage to officers while traveling under orders in the United States, . _ and for actual personal expenses of officers while traveling abroad under orders, and for travehng expenses of civilian employees, and for actual and necessary traveling expenses of midshipmen while proceeding from their homes to the Naval Academy for examination and appointment as midshipmen ; for actual traveling expenses of female nurses; for rent of buildings and offices not in navy-yards; ex enses of courts—martial, prisoners and prisons, and courts of inquiry, hloards of ins ection, examining boards, with clerks' and witnesses' fees, and ' travelling expenses and costs; stationery and recording; expenses of pjurchasing paymasters’ offices of the various cities, including clerks, rniture, fuel, stationery, and incidental expenses; newspapers; all advertising for the Navy Department and its bureaus (except advertising for recruits for the Bureau of Navigation); copying; care of library, including the wurchase of books, photographs, prints, manuscripts, and periodicals; ferriage; tolls; costs of suits; commissions, warrants, diplomas, and discharges; relief of vessels in distress; recovery of valuables from shipwrecks ; quarantine expenses; reports; . professional investigation; cost of special instruction at home and abroad, in maintenance of students and attachés; information from abroad, and the collection and classification thereof; all charges pertaining to the Navy Department and its bureaus for ice for the cooling of drinking water on shore (except at naval hospitals), telephone rentals and tolls, telegrams, cablegrams, and postage, foreign - and domestic, and post—office box rentals; and other necessary and p,,,,.,;,(,,._ incidental expenses: Provided, T hat the sum to be paid out of this ,c$l*g;;j¤s*;$;§‘g;Sf‘°" appropriation, under the direction of the Secretary of the N avv, for c erical, inspection, and messenger service in navvwards, haval stations, and purchasing pay offices for the fiscal yearvending June thirtieth, nineteen hundred and ten, shall not exceed two hundred and forltyriine thousand and fifty-four dollars and twenty-five cents: hfegrtgtanscp gage? freind: further, That hereafter the rates of pay of the clerical, draftgm}, M__ mg, inspection, and messenger force at navy—yards and naval stations mm. and other stations and offices under the Navy Department shall be
