Ch. 160. 1917. itsl all a inted successor, are hereb authorized to deliver water frorxigthe wlsiptiir-su ply system of the lgistrict of Columbia to said Washington Suburban Sanit Commission or its successor for distribution to territory in Marylgnd within the Washington suburban ¤,°{,,§'”°'**““ °°°l" sanitary district as designated in the aforesaid act, and to connect ° District of Columbia water mains with water mains in_the State cf Maryland at the following points, namely, in the vicinity of Chevy Chase Circle, in the vicinity of the intersection of Georgia and Eastern Avenues, in the vicinity of the intersection of Rhode Island and Eastern Avenues, and in the vicinity of the intersection of the Anacostia Road and Eastern Avenue, under the conditions hereinafter named, namely: _ _ _ h,‘°¢“**““ m¤m‘,§§§,g,"§{ That before such connections shall be made the said Washmgton Suburban Sanitary Commission or rts legally apgornted successor shall secure authority from the Legislature of the tate of Maryland to enter into an agreement with the said Commissioners of the District of Columbia outhning the conditions under which the service rs to be rendered. mf;t_¤¤¤*¤ °' •¢'°°· The agreement between the Commissioners of the District_ of Columbia and the said Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission or its legally appointed successor shall provide, among other things: 1¤¤¢i¤¤<>f¤¤¤¤¤ First. That th;) meters on each of said comiections shall be 0- cated within the District of Columbia and shall remain under the jurisdiction of the Commissioners of the District of Columbia. ww nm. Second. The rates at which water will be furnished, saidrates to be based on the actual cost to the United States and the District_of Columbia of delivering water to the points designated above, includirj an interest charge at four per centum per annum and a suitable owance for depreciation. wniieyzeieumgmm Third. That payments for water so furnished shall be made through the collector of taxes of the District of Columbia at such times as the Commissioners of the District of Columbia ma direct, said payments to be deposited in the Treasury of the United, States as other water rents now collected in the District of Columbia are deposited. u,:,§g‘j”‘ °’ """ Fourth. That at no time shall the amount of water furnished the said Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission or its successors Maximum exceed the amount that can be spared without 'eopardizing the interests of the United States or of the District of Columbia, and in no event shall it exceed in amonmt three million gallons per day, measurement thereof to be made under the direction of the Commissioners of the District of Columbia. d,§,?,§,,‘,§’,,§'g,,°?‘l‘“°° Fifth. That the Commissioners of the District of Columbia shall have at all times the right to investigate the distribution system in Mssyland, and if, in their opinion, there is a wastage of water they sh have the right to curtail the supply to said sanitary district to the amount of such wastage.
