S. C., p. 185, sec. 441) ; and for the cost of prepara- tion and transportation to their homes and burial expenses of the remains of members of the Reserve Officers' Training Corps who die whi le atten ding cam ps of in structio n as pro vided in section 4 of th e Act appro ved June 3, 1924 (U. S. C., p. 186, sec. 455) ; and for the c ost of maintenance, rep ai r, and operation of passenger-carrying vehicles, $2,667,917 : Provided, That u nifo rms and othe r eq uipm ent or material issued to the Reserve Officers' Training Corps in accord- ance with law shall be furnished from surplus or reserve stocks of the War Department without payment fr om this appropriation, ex- cept for actual expense incurred in the manufacture or issue : Pro- vided fwrther, That in no case shall the amount paid from this appro- priation for u niforms, equipment, or mate rial furnished to the Res erve Office rs' T raini ng Cor ps fr om st ocks u nder the c ontrol of the War Depar tment be in exce ss of the p rice curre nt at the t ime the issue is made : Provided further, That none of the funds appro- priated in this Act shall be used for the organization or maintenance of an additional number of mounted, motor transport, or tank units in the Reserve Officers' Training Corps : Provided further, That none of the fund s approp riated e lsewhere in this Act, ex cept for printin g and binding and pay and allowances of officers and enlisted men of the Regular Army, shall be used for expenses in connection with the Reserve Officers' Training Corps. MIL IT ARY SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT FOR SCH OO LS AND COLLEGES For the procurement and issue as provided in section 55c of the Act approved June 4, 1920 (U. S. C., p. 213, sec. 1180), and in sec- tion 1225, Revised Statutes, as amended, under such regulations as may be prescribed by the Secretary of War, to schools and colleges, other than those provided for in section 40 of the Act above referred to, of such arms, tentage, and equipment, and of ammunition, targets, and target materials, including the transporting of same, and the overhauling and repair of articles issued, as the Secretary of War shall deem necessary for proper military training in said schools and co lleges, $8,900 . CITIZENS' MILITARY TRAINING CAMPS For furnishing, at the expense of the United States, to warrant off icers, e nlisted men, and civilia ns atten ding tra ining ca mps main - tained under the provisions of section 47d of the National Defense Act of June 3, 1916, as amended by the Act of June 4, 1920 (U . S. C., p . 185, sec. 442), uniforms, including altering, fitting, washing, and cle aning wh en neces sary, su bsistenc e, and t ransport ation, o r in lie u of such tran sport ation and of subsistence for travel to and from camps travel allowances at 5 cents per mile, as prescribed in said section 47d ; for such expenditures as are authorized by said section 47d as may be necessary for the establishment and maintenance of said camps, including recruiting and advertising therefor, and the cost of maintenance, repair, and operation of passenger-carrying vehicles ; f or rei mburs ement for the use, including upkeep and depreciation costs, of supplies, equipment, and materiel furnished in accordance with law from stocks under the control of the War Department
