371 CHAP. 251 .-An Act To provide further for the disposal of abandoned military reservations in the Territory of Al aska, includi ng Sign al Cor ps stat ions and rights of way . Be it ena ct ed by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United Stat es o f America in Congress assem bled, Tha t whe n any lands included within the limits of abandoned or useless military reservations, including Signal Corps stations or rights of way, and not otherwise withdrawn or used for a public purpose, in the Terri- tory of Alaska, have been or may be placed hereafter by order of the President under the jurisdiction of the Secretary of the Interior for disposition, the Secretary may proceed to cause the survey, appraisal, ad Survey, etc., direct- and disposition of such lands or any portions thereof in the manner pr ovided b y the Ac t of Jul y 5, 188 4 (Twent y-third Statutes at Larg e, Vol.23,p.103. page 103), or the Secretary may, in his discretion, direct the restora- tion of such lands or any portions thereof to disposition under the proviso . p ublic land laws applic able to th e Terr itory of Alaska : Provid ed, Payment for Govern . That any person locating, entering, or acquiring title to any such me nt improvements. lands shall, in addition to the regular fees, commissions, and pur- chase pr ice of t he land, pay the apprais ed price of any i mproveme nts placed thereon by the Government .

CHAP. 253.-An Act To amend section 2 of the Act of March 3, 1905, entitled "An Act to ratify and amend an agreement with the Indians residing on the Shoshone or Wind River Indian Reservation, in the State of Wyoming, and to make appropriations to carry the same into effect ." Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States o f America in Congress assembled, That section 2 of chapter 1452 of the Statutes of the Fifty-eighth Congress (Thirty- thi rd Statutes at Large, page 1021), being "An Act to ratify and amend an agreement with the Indians on the Shoshone or Wind River Indian Reservation, in the State of Wyoming, and to make appro- priations to carry the same into effect," as amended by Joint Resolu- tion Numbered 12 of the Fifty-ninth Congress (Thirty-fourth Stat- ut es at Large, page 825) and chapter 197 of the Statutes of the Sixtieth Congress (Thirty-fifth Statutes at Large, page 650), be, and the same is hereby, amended to read as follows " That the ti me for making entry and payment for mineral lands located under the Act of March 3, 1905, shall be extended for the period of ten yea rs from July 1, 1927, and any r ight, title, or i nterest in any such mineral lands acquired heretofore under the provisions of the said Act of March 3, 1905; and the mineral land and mining March 27, 1928. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States o f America in Congress assembled, Tha t the Un ited States Geog raphi c Boar d is hereby auth orize d to name p erman ently a prom inent mountain or peak within the boundaries of the L assen Vol ca nic National Par k, California, in honor of the l ate JohnE.
