For an additional amount for repairs and improvements to police stations and station grounds, fiscal year 1931, $4,600 . FIRE D EPARTM ENT For an additional amount for the pay of officers and members of the fire department, in accordance with the Act entitled "An Actt to fix the salaries of officers and members of the Metropolitan police force, the United States park police force, and the fire department of the District of Columbia " (43 Stat ., p . 175), as amended, fiscal year 1931, $225,600 . COURTS AND PRISONS Supreme Court, District of C olumbia, fees of witnesses : For mil e- age and per diem of witnesses and for per diem in lieu of subsistence, and p ayment of the actual expen ses of witne sses in said court as provided by section 850, Revised Statutes (U . S . C ., title 28, sec . 604), fiscal year 1931, $35,000 . Fees of jurors : For an additional amount for mileage and per diem of jurors, fiscal year 1931, $25,000 . Pay of bailiffs : For an additional amount for pay of bailiffs and criers, in cluding the same objects spec ified under this head in the Distr ict of Columb ia Appropriat ion Act for the fiscal ye ar 1931, $3,000. Courthouse : For an additional amount for personal services for care and protection of the courthouse, under the direction of the United Sta tes marshal of the District o f Columbia, fiscal year 1931, $3,278, to be expended under the direction of the Attorney General .
