(e) Boots, shoes, or other footwear (including athletic or sporting bo ots and sh oes), made wholly or in chief v alue of le ather, not spe- cially provided for, 20 per centum ad valorem ; boots, shoes, or other footwear (including athletic or sporting boots and shoes), the uppers of which are conil--osed wholly or in chief value of wool, cotton, ramie, animal hair, fiber, rayon or other synthetic textile, silk, or substitutes for any of the foregoing, whether or not the soles are composed of leather, wood, or other materials, 35 per centum ad v alorem . (f) Harness valued at more than $i0 per set, single harness valued at more than $40, saddles valued at more than $40 each, saddlery, and parts (except metal parts) for any of the foregoing, 35 per centum ad valorem ; saddles made wholly or in part of pigskin or imitation pigskin, 35 per centum ad valorem ; saddles and harness, not specially provided for, parts thereof, except metal parts, and leather shoe laces, finished or unfinished, 15 per centum ad valorem . (g) The Secretary of the Treasury shall prescribe methods and regulations for carrying out the provisions of this paragraph . PAR . 1531 . Bags, baskets, belts, satchels, cardcases, pocketbooks, jewe l boxes, portfolios , and other boxes a nd cases, not jewel ry, wholly or in chief value of leather or parchment, and manufactures of le ather, rawhid e, or p archmen t, or o f which leathe r, rawh ide, or parchment is the component material of chief value, not specially provided for, 35 per centum ad valorem ; any of the foregoing perma- ne ntly fitte d and furn ished with traveling, bottle, d rinking, d ining or lunche on, se wing, m anicure , or si milar s ets, 50 per ce ntum ad valorem . PAR . 1532 . (a) Gloves made wholly or in chief value of leather, whether wholly or partly manufactured, shall be dutiable at the following rates, the lengths stated in each case being the extreme le ngth (incl uding the unfolded le ngth of cu ffs or oth er appenda ges) when stretched to their fullest extent namely : Men's gloves not over twelve inches in length, $6 per dozen pairs ; women's and children's gloves not over twelve inches in length, $5 .50 per dozen pairs ; fo r each inch o r fract ion the reof in excess of twe lve inc hes, 50 cents per dozen pairs : Prov ided, That, in addition th ereto, on all the foregoing there shall be paid each of the following cumulative duties : When machine seamed, otherwise than overseamed, $1 per dozen pairs : when seamed by hand, $5 per dozen pairs ; when lined with cotton, wool, silk, or other fabrics, $3 .50 per dozen pairs, when trimmed with fur, $4 per dozen pairs ; when lined with leather or fur, $5 per dozen pairs : Provided j'urtiier, That all the foregoing shall be dutiable it . not less than 50 per centum ad valorem : Pro- v ided furfhi~ °, That glove tranks, with or without the usual accom- panying pieces, shall be subject to 75 per centum of the duty pro- vided for the gloves in the fabrication of which they are suitable . (h) Gloves wholly or in chief value of leather made from horse- hides or cowhides (except calfskins), whether wholly or partly ma nufactur ed, 25 pe r centum ad valo rem . PAR . 1533 . Catgut, whip gut, oriental gut, and manufactures thereof, and manufactures of worm gut, not specially provided for, 40 per centum ad valorem . PAR . 153.4. Gal . kerosene, or alcohol mantles, and mantles not specially provided for, treated with chemicals or metallic oxides, wholly or partly manufactured, 40 per centum ad valorem . PAR . 1535.
