By THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA A PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, a Convention between the United States of America ve~IT;~alwfl~im~e~' and the United Mexican States further extending the duration of the extendi.D~ term oC thE Special Claims Commission constituted pursuant to the Convention cp=~re~' concluded between the two Governments on September 10, 1923, for the settlement and amicable adjustment of certain claims therein defined, was concluded and signed by their plenipotentiaries in the city of Washington on the seventeenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, the original of which Convention being in the English and Spanish languages is word for word as follows: CONVENTION BETWEEN THE CONVENCION ENTRE LOS ESTAnos UNITED STATES AND :MEXICO UNIDOS Y MEXICO EXTENDING DURATION OF THE SPE- PRORROGA DEL PLAZO FIJADO PARA CIAL CLAIMS COMMISSION PRO- LA COMISION ESPECIAL DE REC- VIDED FOR IN THE CONVENTION LAMA ClONES EN LA CONVENCION OF S~PTEMBER 10, 1923. WHEREAS a convention was signed on September 10, 1923, between the United States of America and the United Mexican States for the settlement and amicable adjustment of certain c1aims therein defined; and WHEREAS Article VII of said ('onvention provided that the Commission constituted pursuant thereto should hear, examine and decide within five years from the date of its first meeting all the claims filed with it; and WHEREAS it now appears that the said ComInission can not hear, examine and decide such claims within the time liInit thus fixed; The President of the United States of America and the Presi- DEL 10 DE SEPTIEMBRE pE 1923 CONSIDERANDO que los Vol. 43. p.1722.
