Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States o f America in Congress assembled, That the Act of July 1, 1898, entitled "An Act to establish a uniform system of bank- ruptcy throughout the United States," as amended by the Acts of Febr uary 5, 1903, June 1 5, 1906, June 25, 19 10, March 2, 1917, J an- uary 7,1922, May 27,1926, and February 11, 1932 be, and it is hereby, amen ded by adding theret o a new chapter to r ead as follows "CHAPTER VIII Bankruptcy Act, July 1, 1898 ; amend- ments . " SEC. 74. COMPOSITIONS AND EXTENSIONS.- (a) Any person except- to • ,ns cettionsandea- ing a corporat ion may fi le a petit ion, or, i n an invol untary pro ceeding tin h~may file peti- before adjudication, an ans wer within the time limited by section c epted . 18 (b) of this Act, accompanied in either case, unless further time is Vol. 30, p . 551. granted, by his schedules, stating that he is insolvent or unable to meet his debts as they mature, and that he desires to effect a compo- sition or an extension of time to pay his debts .
