RELIEF OF THE POOR For relief of the poor, including medical and surgical supplies, artificial limbs, and for pay of physicians to the poor, to be expended under the direction of the Board of Public Welfare, $8,500 . For payment to beneficiaries named in section 3 of "An Act making it a misdemeanor in the District of Columbia to abandon or willfully neglect to provide for the support and maintenance by any person of his wife or his or her minor children in destitute or necessitous circumstances," approved March 23, 1906, to be disbursed by the disbursing officer of the District of Columbia on itemized vouchers duly audited and approved by the auditor of said District, $4,500 . BURIAL OF Ex-SERVICE MEN For expenses of burying in the Arlington National Cemetery, or in the ce meteries of the Di strict of Columbia , indigen t Union e x-sol- diers, ex-sailors, or ex-marines, of the United States service, either Regular or Volunteer, who have been honorably discharged or retired, and who died in the District of Columbia, to be disbursed by the Secretary of War at a cost not exceeding $45 for such burial expenses in each case, exclusive of cost of grave, $225 . TRANSPORTATION OF INDI GENT PERSONS For transportation of indigent persons, including indigent veter- ans of the World War and their families, $5,000 . Vocational rehabilitation of disabled residents, District of Colum- bia : To carry out the provisions of the Act entitled "An Act to provide for the vocational rehabilitation of disabled residents of the District of Columbia, and for other purposes," approved Feb- ruary 23, 1929 (45 Stat ., p . 1260), $15,000 . MI LITI A 'or the following, to be expended under the authority and direc- tion of the commanding general, who is hereby authorized and empowered to make necessary contracts and leases, namely For personal services, $27,150 ; temporary labor, $7,000 ; in all, $34,150. For expenses of camps, including hire of horses for officers required to be mounted, and for the payment of commutation of subsi stence for e nliste d men who ma y be de tailed to gu ard or move the United States property at home stations on days immediately preceding and immediately following the annual encampments, damages to private property incident to encampment, instruction, purchase, and maintenance, of athletic, gymnastic, and recreational equipment at armory or field encampments, not to exceed $500 ; prac- tice marches, drills, and parade, rent of armories, drill halls, and storehouses ; fuel, light, heat, care, and repair of armories, offices, and storehouses, machinery *nd dock, dredging alongside of dock, construction of buildings for storage and other purposes at target range, telephone service, horses and mules for mounted organiza- tio ns, m aint enanc e and ope ratio n of pass enger and nonpa ssen ger motor vehicles, street car fares (not to exceed $200) necessarily used in the transaction of official business, not exceeding $400 for travel- ing expenses, including attendance of meetings or conventions of ass ociat ions pert ainin g to the Natio nal Guard , and for gene ral incidental expenses of the service, $12,500 .
