Cadets : For pay of cadets, $964,080 : Provided, That no part of Proviso. S erv ice req uire ment this appropriation shall be available for the pay of any cadet =0 1 men . intments from appointed from enlisted men of the Arm3ry for admission to the Military Academy in the class entering in the fiscal year 1933 who has not served with troops in the Regular Army for at least nine mont hs . Civilians : For pay of employees, $276,139 . Maintenance. MAINTENANCE, UNrILi) STATES MILITARY ACADEMY Designated expenses . For'text and reference books for instruction ; increase and expense of library (not exceeding $6,000) ; offi ce e quip ment and suppl ies ; stationery, blank books, forms, printing and binding, and periodi- c al s ; diplomas for graduates (not exceeding $1,100) ; expense of lectures ; apparatus, equipment, supplies, and materials for purpose of instruction and athletics, and maintenance and repair thereof ; musical instruments and maintenance of band ; cake and mainte- nance of organ ; equipment for cadet mess ; postage, telephones, and telegrams ; freight and expressage ; including not to exceed $31,235 for transportation of cadets and accepted cadets from their homes to the Military Academy, and discharged cadets, including reimburse- ment of traveling expenses ; for payment of commutation of rations for the cadets of the United States Military Academy in lieu of the regular established ration ; maintenance of , children's school (not exceeding $12,200) ; contingencies for superintendent of the academy, Board of Visitorsm to be expended in his discretion (not to exceed $3,500)
