863 "SEC . 103b . Every officer or person required by law to certify to etc alsifyfng jury lists, the list o f pers ons se lecte d as j urors who ma liciou sly, corrup tly, o r willfully certifies to a false or incorrect list, or a list containing other names than those selected, or who, being required by law to write down the names placed on the certified lists on separate pieces of paper, does not write down and place in the jury box the same names that are on the certified list, and no more and no less than are on such list, is guilty of a felony ." S EC. 28 . Tha t Chapter III of Title X of the Penal Code of the Canal Zone is hereby amended by inserting therein after section 104 a new section numbered 104a to read as follows "SEC . 104a. Any person who, in any affidavit taken before any F~is affidavitsis per son a utho rized to admi niste r oa ths, swea rs, a ffir ms, decla res, deposes, or certifies that he will testify, declare, depose, or certify before any competent tribunal, officer, or person, in any case then pending or thereafter to be instituted, in any particular manner, or to any particular fact, and in such affidavit willfully and contrary to such oath states as true any material matter which he knows to be false, is guilty of perjury . In any prosecution under this section, subsequent testima ny of a†an t to deter° the subsequent testimony of such person, in any action involving mine . the matters in such affidavit contained, which is contrary to any of the matters in such affidavit contained, shall be prima facie evidence that the matters in such affidavit were false ." SEC . 29. That section 110 of the Penal Code of the Canal Zone is hereby amended to read as follows "SEC. 110 . Perjury is punishable by imprisonment in the peni- Punishment for . tentiary for a term not exceeding ten years ." SEC . 30 . That section 113 of the Penal Code of the Canal Zone is hereby amended to read as follows "SEC . 113 . Every person who practices any fraud or deceit, or toF aece fie g evi de nce knowingly makes or exhibits any false statement, representation, felony . token, or writing, to any witness, or person about to be called as a witness upon any trial, proceeding, inquiry, or investigation what- ever, authorized by law with intent to affect the testimony of such witness, is guilty of a felony ." SEC . 3 1 . That section 1 15 of the Penal Code pf the Canal Zone is hereby amended to read as follows "SEC. 1 1 5 . Every perso n who, knowing that any book, paper, Destroying evidence. record, instrument in writing or other matter or thing, is about to be produced in evidence upon any trial, inquiry, or investigation whatever authorized by law, willfully destroys or conceals the same, with intent thereby to prevent it from being produced, is guilty of a felony ." SEC. 32 . That section 116 of the Penal Code of the Canal Zone is here by am ende d to read as follo ws "SEC. 116 . Every person who willfully prevents or dissuades any tenreveetowt etc., at ° person who is or may become a witness from attending upon any trial, proceeding or inquiry, authorized by law, is guilty of a felony .' SEC. 3 3 . That section 1 22 of the Penal Code of the Canal Zone is hereby amended to read as follows "SEC. 12 2. Every office r, wa rden o r jail er, or guard who is gui lty of prlsouner treatment of willful inhumanity toward any prisoner under his care or in his custody, is punishable by imprisonment in jail not exceeding one year, or by a fine not exceeding $2,000, or by both such fine and imprisonment, and by removal from office ." SEC . 34 . That section 123 of the Penal Code of the Canal Zone is hereby amended to read as follows
