The standard round of beam of the freeboard deck is one-fiftieth of the breadth of the ship. Rule LXI.- Bound oj B«Jm Oorrection. Where the round of beam of the freeboard deck is greats or less than the standard, the freeboard is decreased or increased respectively by one-fourth of the diHerence between the actual and the standard round of beam, multiplied by the proportion of the length of the freeboard deck not covered by enclosed superstructures. Twice the standard round of beam is the maximum for which a.llowance is given. Minimum Freeboard". Rule LXII. -Summn- Fruboard. The minimum freeboard in Summer is the freeboard derived from the Freeboa.rd Table after corrections for departures from the stand- ards and after deduction for superstructures. The freeboa.rd in salt water measured from the intersection of the upper surface of the freeboa.rd deck with the outer surface of the shell is not ro be less than 2 inches. Rule LXIII. - Tropical Fruboard. The minimum freeboa.rd in the Tropical Zone is the freeboard obtained by a deduction from the Summer freeboard of *inch per foot of Summer draught measured from the rop of the keel ro the centre of the disc. The freeboa.rd in salt water measured from the intersection of the upper surface of the freeboard deck with the outer surface of the shell is not ro be less than 2 inches. Rule LXIV.- Winttr Fruboard. The minimum freeboa.rd in W'mter is the freeboa.rd obtained by an addition ro the Summer freeboa.rd of *inch per foot of Summer draught, measured from the rop of the keel ro the centre of the disc. Rule LXV. -W inter North Atlantic Freeboard. Ia:u~ter North At- The mjnjmum freeboard for ships not exceeding 330 feet in length on voyages across the North Atlantic, North of latitude 36° N., during the winter months, is the Winter freeboard plus two inches; for ships over 330 feet in length it is the Winter freeboa.rd.
