951 [CHAPTER 487 .] AN ACT June 13, 1934 . To provide a preliminary examination of Snohomish River and its tributaries in [H.R . 3354 .1 the State of Washington, with a view to the control of its floods . Be it enac ted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of War be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to cause a, preliminary examination to be made of Sn ohomish River and its tributaries in the State of Washington, with a view to control of its floods, in accordance with the provisions of section 3 of an Act entitled "An Act to provide for control of the floods of the Missis- sippi R iver, and of the S acrame nto Ri ver, Ca liforn ia, an d for other purpo ses ", ap proved March 1, 19 17, th e cost there of to b e paid from appropriations heretofore or hereafter made for examinations, sur- veys, and contingencies of rivers and harbors .
