Salaries and expenses, clerks of courts : For salaries of clerks of United States circuit courts of appeals and United States district courts, their deputies, and other assistants, traveling expenses pur- suant to the Subsistence Expense Act of 1926, as amended (U . S . C., title 5, sees . 821-833), and other expenses of conducting their respec- tive offi ces, $2,12 5,000 . Fees of commissioners : For fees of the United States commis- sioner s and ot her comm itting m agistrat es actin under s ection 1 014, Revised Statutes (U . S . C ., title 18, sec. 591), $350.000 . Conciliation commissioners, United States courts : For fees of conciliation commissioners, and per-diem allowance and traveling expenses of supervising conciliation commissioners, as authorized by the Act entitled "An Act to amend an Act entitled `An Act to estab- lish a uniform system of bankr uptcy th roughout the Uni ted Stat es', approved July 1, 1898, and Acts amendatory thereof and supple- mentary thereto", approved March 3, 1933, as amended, $200,000 : Provided, That n one of the m oney approp riated here in sha ll be used to pay the statutory fee of any conciliation commissioner until the case for which the fee is provided shall have been finally disposed of, and not more than one fee shall be paid in any one case . Fees of jurors and witnesses : For mileage and per diems of jurors ; for mileage and per diems of witnesses and for per diems in lieu of subsistence ; and for payment of the expenses of witnesses, as provided by section 850, Revised Statutes (U. S. C., title 28, sec . 604), including the expenses, mileage, and per diems of wit- nesses on behalf of the Government before the United States Cus- toms Court, such payments to be made on the certification of the attorney for the United States and to be conclusive as provided by s ection 846, Revis ed Sta tutes (U.S. C ., title 28, sec . 577), $3,000,000 : Provided, That not to exceed $10,000 of this amount shall be availab le for s uch comp ensation and exp enses of witness es or informants as may be authorized or approved by the Attorney General, which approval shall be conclusive : Provided further, That no part of the sum herein appropriated shall be used to pay any witness more tha n one at tendance fee for any one calenda r day . Salaries and expenses of bailiffs, and so forth : For bailiffs, not exceeding three bailiffs in each court, except in the southern district of New York and the northern district of Illinois ; meals and lodging for jurors in United States cases, and of bailiffs in attendance upon the same, when ordered by the court, and meals and lodging for jurors i n Alaska , as pro vided by section 193, ti tle II, of the A ct of June 6, 1900 (U . S . C ., title 28, sees . 9, 557-570, 595, 596), and compensation for jury commissioners, $5 per day, not exceeding three days for any one term of court, $247,000 : Provided, That, exceptin g in the case of bailiff s in cha rge of j uries ov er Sunda ys and holidays, no per diem shall be paid to any bailiff unless the court is actually in session and the judge present and presiding or present in chambers : Prov ide d f urth er, That none of this appro- priation shall be used for the pay of bailiffs when deputy marshals or marshals are available for the duties ordinarily executed by bailiffs, th e fact of unav ailability to be determine d by the certi ficate of the marshal .
