Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That in orde r to facilitate interstate commerce, improve the postal service, and provide for military and other purposes the State of Louisiana and the State of Texas be, and are hereby, authorized to construct, maintain, and operate a free highway bridge and approaches thereto acro ss the Sabin e Rive r, at a point suita ble to the i nterest s of n avi- gation, at or near a point where Louisiana Highway Numbered 6 in Sabine Parish, Louisiana, meets Texas Highway Numbered 21 in Sabine County, Texas, in accordance with the provisions of an Act entitled "An Ac t to regulate t he constructio n of bridges ov er navigable waters ", approved March 23, 1906 . SEC. 2 . There is hereby conferred upon the State of Louisiana and the State of Texas all such rights and powers to enter upon lands and to acquire, condemn, occupy, possess, and use real estate and other property needed for the location, construction, operation, and maintenance of such bridge and its approaches as are possessed by railroad corporations for railroad purposes or by bridge corpo- Sabine River . AN ACT Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives o f the United States o f America in Congress assembled, That in order to facilitate interstate commerce, improve the postal service, and pro- vide for military and other purposes, the State of Louisiana and the State of Texas be and are hereby authorized to construct, main- tain, and operate a free highway bridge and approaches thereto across the Sabine River, at a point suitable to the interests of navigation, at or near a point where Louisiana Highway Numbered 21 meets Texas Highway Numbered 45, in accordance with the pro- visions of an Act entitled "An Act to regulate the construction of bridges over navigable waters ", approved March 23, 1906 . SEC . 2 . There is hereby conferred upon the State of Louisiana and the State of Texas all rights and powers to enter upon lands and to acquire, condemn, occupy, possess, and use real estate and other property needed for the location, construction, operation, and main- tenance of such bridge and its approaches as are possessed by rail- road corpora tions for rail road purposes o r by bridge cor porations for bridge purposes in the State in which such real estate or other property is situated, upon making just compensation therefor, to be ascertained and paid according to the laws of such State, and the proceedings therefor shall be the same as in the condemnation or expropri ation of proper ty for public purposes in suc h State . SEC . 3 . The right to alter, amend, or repeal this Act is hereby expressly reserved . Approved, June 28, 1935,
