[CHAPT ER 504 .] JOINT R ESOLUTI ON To provide for certain State allotments under the Cotton Control Act . Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United S tates of Americ a in Congress assembled, T ha t se ct io n 5 (a ) of the Act entitled "An Act to place the cotton industry on a sound commercial basis, to prevent unfair competition and practices in putting cotton into the channels of interstate and foreign commerce, to provide fund s for paying ad ditional benefi ts under the A gricul- tural Adjustment Act, and for other purposes ", approved April 21, 1934, as am ended, is amend ed by inserting before the pe riod at the end of the first sentence thereof a colon and the following " Provided further, That no State shall receive an allotment for any crop year beginning with the crop year 1935-1936 of less than four thousand bales of cotton if during any one of the ten crop years prior to the date of the enactment of this Act the production of such State exceeded five thousand bales ".
