DI STRICT OF COLUMB IA EMPL OYEES' COMPE NSATI ON F UND For carrying out the provisions of section 11 of the District of Columbia Appropriation Act approved July 11, 1919, extending to the employees of the government of the District of Columbia the provisions of the Act entitled "An Act to provide compensation for Pmployees of the United St ates suffering injuries whi le in the per- formance of their dutie s, and for other purposes", approved Septem- ber 7, 1916, $41,000 . Administrative expenses, compensation to injured employees in the District of Columbia : For the enforcement of the Act entitled "An Act to provide compensation for disability or death resulting from injury to employees in certain employments in the District of Columbia, and for other purposes", approved May 17, 1928 (45 Stat ., p. 600), $53, 300, for transfer to and ex penditure by the Employees' Compensation Commission under its appropriations "Salaries and expenses", $53,000, and "Printing and binding", $300 . For financing of the liability of the government of the District of Columbia, created by the Act entitled "An Act fo r the retirement of employees in the classified civil service, and for other urposes", approved May 22, 192 0, and Act s amendator y thereof 63 . S. C., ti tle 5 , se c . 707a), $84 2,760, which am ount shall be p laced to the credit of the "civil service retirement and disability fund." DEP ARTM ENT OF VE HIC LES AND TR AFF IC For personal services, $82,440 . F or p urch ase, inst alla tion , and mod ific atio n of elec tric tra ffic ligh ts, signals, and controls, markers, painting white lines, labor, mainte- nance of non-passenger-carrying motor vehicles, and such other expenses as may be necessary in the judgment of the Commissioners, including not to exceed $30,000 for the operation and maintenance of electric traffic lights, signals, and controls, $93,000, of which not less than $25,000 shall be expended for the purchase, installation, and modification of electric traffic-light signals : Provided, That no part of this or any other appropriation contained in this Act shall be expended for building, installing, and maintaining street-car loading platforms and lights of any description employed to distinguish same . RECORDER OF DEE DS For personal services, $110,000 . For miscellaneous and contingent expenses, including telephone service, printing, binding, rebinding, repairing, and preservation of
