C ., title 25, sec . 155), not more than $312,995, including not to exceed $63,750 for payment of tuition for Chippewa Indian children enrolled in public schools and care of children of school age attending private schools in the State of Minnesota, payable f rom the principal sum on depo sit to the credit of th e Chippewa I ndians in the State of Min nesota arisin g under section 7 of the Act of January 14, 1889 (25 Stat ., p . 645) Provided, That formal contracts shall not be required, for compliance with section 3744 of the Revised Statutes (U . S . C ., title 41, sec . 16), for payment (which may be made from the date of admission) of tuition and for care of Indian pupils attending public schools, or schools for the deaf and dumb, blind, physically h andicapped, o r mentally deficient . For the edu- cation of unallotted Osage Indian children in the Saint Louis Mis- sion Boarding School, Oklahoma, $2,000, payable from funds held in trust by the United States fo r the Osage Tribe . For reimbursable loans to Indians for the payment of tuition and other expenses in recogni zed vocational and trade scho ols, including colleges and universities offering recognized vocation al, trade, and professional courses, in accordance with the provisions of the Act of June 18, 1934 (48 Stat ., p. 986), and for apprentice training in manu- facturing and other commercial establishments, $50,000, and the unexpended balance of the appropriation available for the fiscal year 1937 is continued available until June 30, 1938 : Provided, That not more than $50,000 of the amount available for the fiscal year 1938 shall be available for loans to Indian students pursuing liberal-arts courses in high schools and colleges : Provided furt/ber, That advances made under this authorization shall be reimbursed in not to exceed eight years, under such rules and regulations as the Secretary of the Interior may prescribe . For lease, purchase, repair, and improvement of buildings at Indian schools not otherwise pro vided for, including the purc hase of neces- sary lands and the in stallation, repair, and impro vement of heating, lighting, power, sewer, and water systems in connection therewith, $390,000 . Constructi on, enlargement, or improveme nt of public-school build- ings : The unexpended balance of the appropriation of $931,000 con- talned in the Second Defi ciency Appropriation Act, fis cal year 1935, for cooperation with public-school districts in the construction, enlargement, or improvement of local public elementary or high schools, including purcha se of necessary equipment, as authorized by and in conformity with numerous Acts of the Seventy-fourth Con- gress approved June 7, 1935, and June 11, 1935, is hereby continued available for the same purposes and under the same conditions until June 30, 1938 . 581 Pup ils att endi ng public schools .
