53 STAT.] 76TH CONG. , 1ST SESS.-CH. 107-MAY 2, 1939 Judgments, highway fund: For the payment of final judgments, including costs, rendered against the District of Columbia, as set forth in House Document Numbered 77, Seventy-sixth Congress, $4,520.14, together with the further sum to pay the interest at not exceeding 4 per centum per annum on such judgments, as provided by law, from the date the same became due until the date of payment, payable from the special fund created by section 1 of the Act entitled "An Act to provide for a tax on motor vehicle fuels sold within the District of Columbia, and for other purposes", approved April 23, 1924 (43 Stat. 106), as amended, and accretions by repayment of assessments. Department of Vehicles and Traffic, inspection of motor vehicles, highway fund, District of Columbia: For an additional amount for carrying out the provisions of the Act entitled "An Act to provide for the annual inspection of all motor vehicles in the District of Columbia", approved February 18, 1938, including the same objects and under the same conditions and limitations applicable to the appro- priation for this purpose in the Second Deficiency Appropriation Act, fiscal year 1938, approved June 25, 1938, $22,330. Division of expenses: The foregoing sums for the District of Columbia, unless otherwise therein specifically provided, shall be paid out of the revenues of the District of Columbia and the Treasury of the United States in the manner prescribed by the District of Columbia Appropriation Acts for the respective fiscal years for which such sums are provided. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE FOREST SERVICE Fighting forest fires: For an additional amount for fighting and preventing forest fires, including the same purposes and objects speci- fied under this head in the Agricultural Appropriation Act for the fiscal year 1939, $2,480,000. The appropriation under the Forest Service, Department of Agri- culture, for New England hurricane damage, contained in the First Deficiency Appropriation Act, fiscal year 1939, is hereby amended by including with the States named therein the State of New York: Provided, That the Federal Government shall not expend of such appropriation in such State an amount in excess of $60,000. BUREAU OF ENTOMOLOGY AND PLANT QUARANTINE Dutch elm disease eradication: For an additional amount for Dutch elm disease eradication, including the same objects and condi- tions specified under this heading in the Agricultural Appropriation Act for the fiscal year 1939, $100,000. FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION Enforcement of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act: For an additional amount to enable the Secretary of Agriculture to carry into effect the provisions of the Act of June 25, 1938 (52 Stat. 1040), including the employment of persons and means in the District of Columbia and elsewhere, fiscal year 1939, $15,000, which shall be available immediately for listing and certification of coal-tar colors in accordance with section 706 of such Act, which section is hereby made immediately effective; and the current appropriation for the 631 Shell Eastern Petro- leum Products, Inc., and Texas Company, judgments.
