C. §I491- 498. credit of the District of Columbia not otherwise appropriated, for the fiscal year 1942, for the following purposes, namely: For an additional amount for pay and allowances of officers and members of the Metropolitan Police force in accordance with the Act entitled "An Act to fix the salaries of the Metropolitan Police force, the United States Park Police force, and the Fire Department of the District of Columbia" (43 Stat. 174-175), as amended by the Act of July 1, 1930 (46 Stat. 839 -841), including uniforms and equipment for such personnel, $103,708. For an additional amount for the expenses necessarily involved in the police control, regulation, and administration of traffic upon the highways, payable from the special fund created by the Act entitled "An Act to provide for a tax on motor-vehicle fuels sold within the District of Columbia, and for other purposes", approved April 23, 1924 and the Act entitled "An Act to provide additional revenue for the District of Columbia, and for other purposes", approved August 17, 1937, $16,625. [CHAPTER 496] AN ACT Granting the consent of Congress to the State of Minnesota and the city of Minneapolis to construct, maintain, and operate a free highway bridge across the Mississippi River at or near Minneapolis, Minnesota. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the consent of Congress is hereby granted to the State of Minnesota and the city of Minneapolis to construct, maintain, and operate a free highway bridge and approaches thereto across the Mississippi River, at a point suit- able to the interests of navigation, at or near Washington Avenue South and Southeast in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in accordance with the provisions of the Act entitled "An Act to regulate the construc- tion of bridges over navigable waters", approved March 23, 1906, and subject to the conditions and limitations contained in this Act. SEC. 2. The right to alter, amend, or repeal this Act is hereby expressly reserved. Approved, November 21, 1941. [CHAPTER 497] AN ACT Authorizing the State of Indiana to construct, maintain, and operate a free high- way bridge across the Wabash River at or near Montezuma, Indiana. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the consent of Congress is hereby granted to the State of Indiana to construct, maintain, and operate a free highway bridge and approaches thereto across the Wabash River, at a point suitable to the interests of navigation, at or near Montezuma, Indiana, in accordance with the provisions of an Act entitled "An Act to regulate the construction of bridges over navigable waters," approved March 23, 1906, and subject to the conditions and limitations contained in this Act.
