1594 INTERNATIONAL AGREEMENTS OTHER THAN TREATIES [55 STAT. (F)-SpecialProvision appertainingto British Guiana. (1) In its use of the Demerara and Essequibo Rivers, the United States shall not obstruct the navigation thereof. (2) From such areas and under such terms as may be mutually agreed by the Government of the United States and the Govern- ment of British Guiana, the Government of British Guiana shall be permitted within the Leased Areas to win stone for public works; provided that such permission shall not be exercised so as to interfere with the construction, maintenance, operation or defence of the Bases and shall be subject to such restrictions as may be demanded by military necessity.
